Good quality jacket, arrived next day. I'm 6ft 3" and very slim, so I was struggling to find a decent waterproof jacket in outdoor stores such as Cotswold etc. This however fits perfectly (size M) with adequate sleeve and body length. The rear of the jacket comes down plenty preventing a wet bum/lower back in rainy conditions. If you work up a sweat then there are two discrete but effective armpit zips you can open. It's great looking, comfy and the hood is removable.
Great jacket, perfect fit, lightweight, breathable, nice and warm, keeps all the elements out, stylish too. Chuck it in the washing machine and you can wear it out at night as well. Quality product!.
I bought this jacket after reading extensive reviews on numerous different sites. When it arrived the first thing I did was try it on for size because many reviews have said they are generous in sizing but not many people gave their own size as a comparison, so I will.
I bought a large, I'm 6'2" tall and have a 41-42" chest, I am 16 stone and have a slight belly (so the wife says!). The coat fitted me perfectly with plenty of room for additional layers. Slightly long on the arms when standing but that's to allow for the extended reach when on the bike. If I had gone for the XL as I sometimes do, I would have been sending the coat back, also the M would probably have been a bit snug for my liking.
The zips are all waterproofed and the pockets are generous enough for you to put what you need in, for me it was car keys and mobile, though I could have fitted more.
On my first ride wearing the jacket, I somehow found myself fully submerged in a large pool of water (long story!) but the coat served to keep me fairly well protected, though as would be expected from a quick swim i did get wet! It did however succeed in keeping my phone and keys dry so that was a real plus! During the rest of the ride we experienced some torrential rain and the coat performed perfectly, keeping me dry and warm with no concerns at all.
If I had to give the jacket any negative feedback, it would be on two things, firstly, the hood is ever so slightly small, in as much as it fits over your head but feels tight doing so, the peak is also a little short but this really is a minor niggle as I don't bother with hoods when riding and it is detachable. The second small niggle I have found is because the main zip is hidden at the bottom by a piece of the coats fabric, it can mean that you don't quite engage the zip properly and it ends up undoing from the bottom, though once I figured out the problem I have ensured it is done up correctly and have not had this issue since.
In summary, this is a fantastic coat and superb value for money, the black and red option which I chose is really nice looking and the coat performed impeccably throughout its first ride. BUY ONE!!!
Jacket is very good, meets all expectations and is a great riding/casual jacket, it's a bit warm so isn't a summer jacket and I'm not too sure about the orange zips and would like to see it in red.
Good quality jacket which feels robust and warm enough for the winter days ahead. Additional vents are there if required but I haven't had the need to use them - perhaps in late spring!
Looks wise, I think you'll struggle to find a better looking trail jacket.
Great price and quick delivery.
Ordered medium jacket for 37.5" chest in accordance with Altura sizing recommendations. It was way too baggy and long sleeved for me which is a pity because the jacket looked a quality item. Merlin like all good companies dealt with the return in a timely and efficient manner.
It lives up to the reviews. It is a very good off road waterproof.
If carlsberg were to make a mtb trail jacket then this would be it !!!!
Wore it last night with just a merino base layer and was toasty the vents work great for the up hill sections all in all really great jacket and the colour is great too Black is so boring
There is one con their sizing can be off the medium was to restrictive and the large is just a little bit to big for me
Get one I promise you you wont be disappointed.
Fantastic jacket, I have found it to be very waterproof but also very breathable at the same time. The under arm vent certainly help.
Only one thing lets if down and that's the fact that the fabric is very noisy but it still gets a 9 out of 10 from me.
Quality jacket that can be worn on and off the trail, soft material and very stylish with good around performance
Nice attractive jacket. Comfy , pockets in right places. Sizing is very generous , I am normally a large but was miles too big. Been caught in a few showers and was bone dry. This is quite warm when on as there is a thin lining. I like it a lot.
fantastic service and very quick delivery again.
would very much recommend Mrelin Cycles
Good jacket for the money. Probably better suited to winter when it gets a bit colder. If I had realised that it had a mesh liner I would have probably bought a different jacket and controlled my temp with layers.
Never mind it has kept me dry which is the main thing.
Sizing is on the generous side. I'm 6' tall and 13 1/2 stone & the large is just bit too far on the baggy side
