Garmin Edge 500 GPS with Cadence and Heart Rate

Great gadget with heaps of information available, set your own screens to suit the ride. connection is usually within 30 seconds and battery life is lasting around 16-18 hours

Dead easy to set up and use. I'm still learning how to use it properly but one slight drawback. The cable tie used to secure the cadence monitor on the pedal crank has been wearing against my cycle shoe. I've adjusted the cleat on the shoe, but it's not in the perfect position for me. Overall very good - no need to waste the extra cash on a 510 or 810!

Only had it for a week, but I took it for a 50 miles ride without a issue of freezing up. I'm positive the new firmware fixed the problem. This is a must if you are a cyclist.

Don't know myself since getting this...all the info I could ever want..or digest at your fingertips, this is a super bit of kit and... pricewise... Merlin have the best deal on the full package, believe me, I priced around!

This really is- Plug & Play! I was going to only use this Garmin for full on training rides & other high milage events. However, coupled together with Strava I'm using nearly every time I get on my bike!!

This Garmin is awesome, I got it for my 13 year old son who is riding a lot more and wanted to keep track of his rides. He loves it.
Merlin Cycles was the best prices out there. I had ordered some Formula brakes form them a while back, and like many people I was concern about the delivery. The Garmin arrived in a week, now that was fast&looks like I will be ordering more items form the in the near feature.

useful training aid. Decided on the Edge 500 as simple to set up - just take it out of the box ,fit the mount on your bike and you are ready to go. Included both heart rate and cadence monitors. Also wanted ability to use on both road and mountain bike, having 2 cycle mounts and simple twist and click action to switch the monitor between bikes is a big plus.

I got the GPS bundle with cadence and HRM togeather and its a great computer to have with you on your spins, has all the info you need and much much more, up to 40 pieces of info can be displayed which is more than i need. easy to use, clips on and off nicely easy to read and scroll through pages on the move all round great purchase.

Love the Garmin edge 500, it has features to suit all riding styles. The best feature is the ability to customise the screen with information that suits you.

Garmin was packaged nicely and worked right out of the box. I was coming from an Edge 705 so I knew exactly what I wanted and Merlin was the cheapest that I could find anywhere on the internet for.

Absolutely delighted . As usual delivery with Merlin is within 1-2 days. Item came well packaged. Instructions and set up easy to understand and do. Picks up signal quite quickly and is very accurate. Very appealing to the serious cyclist who is looking to improve their performance, especially the heart rate monitor and the cadence. Setting up and following a pre-determined route is quite easy to do, plus the garmin website is fantastic. Would highly reccomend.

Smart piece of kit. Not used to full extent yet but so far so good. Simple to install with help of online pics for cadence. Have not got cadence working yet but installed and used once since without trying to adjust. Heart rate monitor works fine - used on several rides with no problems. Garmin connect ok and no issues with data transfer. 1 Problem i have come accross is with editing. in certain pages it won't let me edit or access certain pages- very frustrating. Again, i have not emailed garmin for support on this. Early days but so far so good
