    Mountain bike (MTB) brake pads

Not all brake pads are created equal. Not all brake pads are designed with the same sort of priorities. A brake pad has to offer several features. It need to be durable. It needs to offer powerful braking. It needs to give the brake a good level of feel and feedback. It needs to not overheat. It needs to be affordable. Unfortunately not all of these features can be addressed at once. Something has to give. Brake pads come in two main sorts: sintered (AKA metal) and resin (AKA organic). Sintered pads last longer but aren't as powerful sometimes. Resin pads are powerful but wear quickly, especially in wet conditions. A good idea is to run resin pads up front and sintered pads in the rear.
