If you can’t fit or don’t want your bike inside your car then carrying it on a rear rack is a good option. These racks attach to the rear of the car by straps or over the tow bar hitch, both of which only take a few minutes to install so you don’t have to have them on permanently, and carry several bikes (depending on model) on outstretched arms which support the frame. Bikes are placed on the rack and secured with the straps supplied with the rack. Depending on car and type of rack, you may need to also buy a number plate and lighting board if the bikes obscure your car’s number plate and rear lights when in use to stay legal. Merlin Cycles staff are happy to help with any queries on which type of rack will suit which type of car so please don’t be afraid to ask.
