Biggest star on the team is Irishman Dan Martin who in 2013 won the oldest Classic of them all, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, as well as the Tour of Cataluña. Britain’s David Millar is riding his last season in professional cycling with the team and is doing his best to go out with a bang.

The team are known as much for their camaraderie and spoof videos as they are for their attacking riding style and impressive results.

Etixx Quick-Step If there's one team that was ever built to win Classics and stages its Etixx - Quick-Step. British sprint star and former world road race champion Mark Cavendish provides the sprint wins in grand tours.

Bora Argon 18 The new name for the NatApp-Endura team. Quite a lot has changed since the new sponsors have taken over. Craft have taken over as manufacturer of their clothing. Canadian bike brand Argon 18 have brought an entirely revamped race bike for the team to battle on. Of principal interest to cycling fans in UK and Ireland will be Brit Scott Thwaites and Ireland’s Sam Bennett. Bennett is stuffed with potential. 2015 could see him breakthrough to be one of the top tier of racers. Fingers crossed.

Lotto Soudal 2015 marks the 31st year that Lotto, the Belgian national lottery, has been a sponsoring a professional cycling team. Lotto Soudal is unashamedly Belgian in their outlook so the cobbled early season Classics are a big deal for them and the rivalry with the Quickstep team is always interesting to watch. The undisputed star of the team is the German sprinter Andre Greipel. The German sprint specialist has claimed more wins than almost anyone else in the past two years.

Tinkoff Saxo Bank Sponsored by a Russian credit company and a Danish bank respectively. The team is built for the grand tours with a selection of strong riders used to pulling on different terrain for their leaders. The Biggest name in the books is Spaniard Alberto Contador who has won all three grand tours in his career. Has been off the boil since his return but seems to be coming back to his old form in 2014 with several early season stage race wins.

Giro D'Italia The Giro d'Italia is an annual stage race bicycle race primarily held in Italy, while also occasionally passing through nearby countries. The race was first organized in 1909 to increase sales of the newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport; however it is currently run by RCS Sport.

The Tour de France The race was first organized in 1903 to increase paper sales for the magazine L'Auto; it is currently run by the Amaury Sport Organisation. The race has been held annually since its first edition in 1903 except for when it was stopped for the two World Wars. As the Tour gained prominence and popularity the race was lengthened and its reach began to extend around the globe.

UCI World Championships The UCI world championships are annual competitions to determine world champion cyclists. They are held in a different country each year.
