DT Swiss P 1800 Spline 23 Clincher Road Wheel - 700c
At the core of this allround wheelset lies a modern, wide and light aluminium rim. Being the foundation of the P 1800 SPLINE 23, it makes for a balanced width to stiffness to weight ratio. This rim is complemented by a hub featuring DT Swiss' proven pawl system freehub as well as a high-end build with bladed spokes and elaborate aluminum nipples. These features make it a premium training wheel easily able to race your mates when the city limit sign comes up.

John Wilcock Love these wheels! They are lively and responsive and beg to be ridden fast (they will be forever disappointed in that regard, given my talents). While not by any means silent, the freewheel noise is not nearly so exaggerated as I feared, so don't let that fear prevent you from buying a pair. They are incredible value.
Douglas Good upgrade from my stock wheels, which were already pretty good because on a higher-end bike. Nice and stiff when climbing and cornering. Arrived perfectly true. Replaced thinner rims and 700x23 tires with these and 700x25 tires - much better handling with no noticeable loss of speed. Great value with Merlin's discount. Only downside is the very loud freehub. I was warned by other reviews, but I had no idea. I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Mr ELBİ Excellent wheels, I bought it but I used up to 1000km and was quite impressed, acceleration is spectacular, my climbing was quite relaxed, I can clearly see the difference in the segments. The hub sound is quite loud as said but not a problem for me :)
Mr Evdochim I did buy my self a road bike last year, end of October (my first one )... so didn't get much time to test it... first thing I noticed... well my wheels. Started to look for a new set of wheels. Fancied instantly Merlin Cycles offer. Order, tracked the order, received my new pair of wheels. They feel fast on the road. The DT Swiss hub makes a lot of noise, but that warns the pedestrians, so bottom line very pleased for my choice! Entry level wheels (price) with mid to high level performance !
Filipe I`m impressed, I was looking for some wheels to replace my old DT SWISS pair, first I was going for the Primes road race but then this caught my attention they are quite light and stiff, and if you are into the hub sound this is perfect they sound very loud. Also they come with tubeless tape installed, valves and the new dt swiss QR.
Mr endo I'm a 49-year-old triathlon age-grouper with 7 year experience, not Pro. Compared to other wheels I have, Shimano Ultegra, Campagnolo Zonda and DT Swiss Spline R23, I can say honestly there's no difference. P1800 spins as well, so you can save energy and use them for training and race at hill-climbing.
Chiltern Cyclist Bought these to replace (rim) worn out Fulcrum Racing 3, the weight diff was an extra ~45gr, which is not much to me, but the price difference was superb. Ordered Thursday, fitted Friday evening and ridden Saturday - thanks Merlin. Easy to fit, need to get use to the DT Swiss QR, different to other brands but very easy to use. the wheels are light for the price and actually feel robust too. They look very well made, clean lines and first couple of rides they are fine, no issues with climbing or downhill speed. Like how the tyres fit too (clinchers, although tubeless ready). Very happy purchase and may consider a pair for one of the other road bikes. Oh yes, that freewheel, love the noise but your neighbours may not on those early starts, just need to pedal away from the house....
JC These wheels are really nice. They're light, have bit wider bed than some other models that help with wider tires and that freewheel! Oh that DT Swiss sound. It makes a great whir and comes with great pickup when you get back on the power.
The only downside is that the freewheel sound makes you want to coast all the time.

Ray LIN Pair of great wheels for this price. They are fairly light weight and low profile rim seems helpful for mountain climbing and acceleration. I would definitely recommend this wheel for budget riders
Mick S. Fantastic wheelset for a phenomenal price. This is by far the best wheel for the money. The set weighs in at 1600 grams with rim tape. Wider rim fits 25-28c tires perfectly. Rear hub is a tad loud, but that's something you can get used to. Shipping was very fast to Seattle.

Nicolaj This is a great wheelset and for the money I cannot see anything better available out there. The weight is spot on spec at 1609g for the pair, they roll smoothly and are impressively rigid even when stomping in the pedals uphill. For reference I run these with clincher tires. I also have the identical wheelset from last year labelleled Spline R23, which I have been running tubeless all winter on my cross bike and based on these, the longevity of the new P1800 should be excellent.
