Wheels rock. As smooth as can be and as true as you would hope for. First ride was as silent as can be then I started to break them in and now it's such a sweet sound. Can't wait to get my next set for my other bikes. If this is something you are thinking about, get them. Only draw back is they didn't come with wheel bags as mentioned but I guess you could get aftermarket cheaper. Happy rides.
Very well made and beautiful hand-crafted wheelset. Lightweight and performance oriented. Great wheels at a great price.
I brought these to upgrade my Fulcrum 7's and reduce the weight of the wheels to assist with climbing. I have paired them with Conti GP4000 IIs tyres. They have made a difference for sure. On my usual 'training' run I can climb the long first hill one gear lower at the same cadence as previously and on the one steepish downhill I roll at 3mph faster than the previous wheels. Too early to comment on longer term improvements but I am happy to say they have made an small immediate improvement.
The most noticeable feeling is the acceleration. I do feel the road a bit more, although on a 75 mile ride it was not a problem on my posterior. They climb well, compared to my Rolf Elan's. The rear wheel seems a bit heavier than my Elan's however the are stiffer.
I am very happy with the Fulcrum Racing Zero Dark Label wheelset I purchased from Merlin Cycles. The wheels are very light - almost half a kilo lighter than the standard 'Giant' wheelset they replace. They have improved the handling of my bike and seem very smooth and look great on my black and white bike. They live up to all the rave reviews I read prior to purchase.
This is the 2nd F0 wheel set I have purchased. They are the best all round wheel set. I recently purchased a set for my partner. Once again, Merlin service was superb. Shipped within a week internationally and with no hassles.
Have always found the site to be keenest price's around, took the plunge for a nice set of Zero Dark Label Fulcrum's, service was first class, next day, no hassle's and nice set of wheels to boot....now waiting on some decent scottish weather to try out....I will be back for more no question.
The technical characteristics remain unchanged with respect to the wheel introduced last season: performance, smoothness, and reliability always right up at the top. So you can choose the version that best fits aesthetically with the colouring of your bike, without foregoing the technical and performance features that have made Racing Zero the top choice of so many cyclists, pros and amateurs alike.
Moved up to these from a set of F3s. wasn't sure if the weight savings would be immediately apparent. I was wrong. What a great wheel, seems to be even smoother than the F3s, definitely lighter, combined with the GP 4000s Contis and light tubes makes for a very pleasant ride. Like the quieter free hub and the understated colour scheme. Thanks Merlin!
