The Fire XC Pro gives excellent grip in all round conditions. It remains a relatively light off road tyre with good longevity. I live in the muddy West of England and it clears the muck very well. Highly recommended for those wetter British days.
This is the probably the third or fourth set I've had of these tyres on various bikes over the years.
I always come back to these as the quality is excellent and the grip is outstanding. They perform very well in most conditions apart from sloppy mud, but then most tyres will be the same.
Very low weight too!
Very grippy and light, make sure you mount the rear tire facing the right way, excellent price from Merlin as these are the high TPI version.
Not only performs well in all but the most muddy of conditions, it also looks great as well with the red side walls matching all the other red bits on the bike! Very pleased.
They appear to roll quickly with minimum of drag. Grip is very good. They clear quickly of mud and other muck you can pick up on the trail.
The red stripes match brilliantly with the paint job on my Trek Fuel ex.
Bought a single 1.8 to try it on the rear. Worked out very well. About 1mm wider and 1mm taller than the 1.75 Pasela TG that I usually use on the mooch about the woods bike, so fits under the mudguard without any adjustment. Weight good, tread pattern seems to work a treat. Ride comfort not in the Pasela league but an allround much grippier (obviously) and tougher tyre.
great product good grip in soft terrain very good value for money
Great all round tyre that has stood the test of time.
I think this is a great tyre and run it on the front and rear. Lots of grip both ascending and descending whilst being reasonably light. I weigh 90kg and have been plagued with pinch flats on all but the heaviest tyres. Running 45psi on the rear and 40psi up front has been successful in preventing them. It is not a great performer in really thick mud (2.1 tyre) but manages well for short bursts. I will continue to buy these tyres for the foreseeable future.
Got the blue sidewall for the "bling" effect and certainly looks good as well as performs excellently
got another fire xc pro ,why get anything else when these are so goo for anything but the thickest of winter mud, excellent all rounder.
Great service, items arrived through the post quickly, will look on site for futher purchasese.
What can I say about these tyres that has not been said before? Been using these for most of my riding for years. Every now and again I am tempted to buy something else after reading a rave review about some other new tyre, only to regret it later and put Fire XC Pro's back on after a couple of rides. I have a cupboard full of tyres that I've tried that don't match up to the Fire XC Pro's. Great for all conditions apart from really muddy ground (Mountain Mayhem 2012) when I used a dedicated mud tyre. Roll fast, last ages, grip everything. Almost the perfect tyre.
Excellent traction as rear tyre in peak district xc conditions. Light and pretty low rolling resistance for an all condition tyre. Have had in past and will buy again
