Mr Allix Brilliant wheel for the price. 100% recommend!
jm2277 This is an excellent item, very cheap and reliable. The wheel is strong and also very light. I recommend this product.
Mr ponton Perfect for the money, quite light, nice wide rim, sealed first time with a track pump. Perfect. 😁
Mrs Rushton Solid but light wheels even with a boost hub
Mr Needs Neat wheel for the price. Looks really nice, good quality, takes a 2.4 tyre well, tubeless ready (just needs tape, sealant and valve) tubeless ready tyres seal like a glove on the bed, takes a 203 rotor well. I also have one for the back which has taken a real pounding on a Ragley piglet hardtail and has held up well with minimal truing. I have the 20mm front axle version which fits an old suntour durolux perfectly. Great wheels that do the job for the die hard 26ers
Brian Initial impressions is that these wheels seem like good quality for the money although I found it strange that the rear comes with a quick release and the front bolt through so you will need to buy a conversion kit for the front wheel if you need quick release. There was no instructions on how to remove the the bolt through adapters either but given that there was no thread on the quick release ones I had bought reckoned they must pull off, and they did, but only with the help of a vice to hold the adapter and pulling the wheel off. Now fitted and on my 10 years old MTB along with new cassette and chain also ordered from Merlin. Free hub has a nice little whirring sound to it but not too obtrusive.
Mr Philipson I'd upgraded my forks to a new 15mm bolt through setup and needed a new wheel. For the cash this is a really nice setup, the hub bearings are obscenely smooth, the hub itself appears to be well put together too. The spokes lovingly laced into place holding the rim were all tensioned properly and the rim itself was true, so this should last a good while before giving up. Time will tell but I feel like only stacking it heavy will budge this.
Graham Great value quality wheel. Smooth almost perpetual like motion. Lovely clicking sound when freewheeling.
Mr Hall Very good wheel set. Nice and light, went up tubeless straight away. Very happy with them.
Mike I bought a pair of these 26 inch wheels to replace the 29 inch wheels, that came with my bike when they were the fashion. They appear to be well made. The rims come ready taped and the hubs have sealed bearings. I needed wheels that used through axles on both wheels which is difficult to find at this price. The rear wheel hub comes with a quick release skewer, but I bought the optional conversion kit to fit my 12mm through axle. I measured the width between the rear wheel mountings, before I ordered, to ensure the conversion to 142 mm wide would fit. The wheels were a straight fit to my bike, including my 10 speed Shimano cassette I am very pleased with my purchase.
26erLuddite What a luddite! Still riding around on 26" wheels! Yeah, well, whatever. They're all round aren't they? I needed a decent, inexpensive 26" wheel that takes 11 speed cassettes as I wanted to convert my singlespeed to 11 speed, having had my fill of 1x1. So I saw this wheel and bought it. It was true out of the (very nice) box, the hub sounds buzzy instead of clicky. Everything fit nice, all working well, it rides nice - of course its a bit heavier than my SS wheel, and the WTB Trailboss is ever so slightly loose fitting on it causing it to take a while to seal tubelessly, but no big deal it's done now. I did have to take the rim tape off and use a coupla layers of Stan's tape. Done a couple of hundred kilometers on it now, nothing aggressive, just XC and commuting in the snow, and all seems well. My only - minor - complaint is that one of the graphics faded after the very first wash. Faded as in cannot make out any writing at all. Really strange as the others still look brand new. Anyway, not really bothered as considering the price, it's a good wheel and keeps my ancient 26er rolling.
Brian Bought these wheels for the correct 135mm rear/15mm front through axle-which are hard to find in 26" now. They are a nice wide 28mm inner width which I like for grip and running lower pressures. They are tubeless ready as well. GREAT wheels!
Jon Sparks The wheel itself rides okay and after a couple of fairly testing rides remains true. The freehub is a little noisier than my previous wheels but not as loud as a Hope. One suggestion to any purchaser of these wheels, replace the rim tape before fitting a tyre. It didn't stay put and within a couple of rides had slipped out of position exposing some of the spoke holes to the tube.
Mr Clark Great wheel for the price. Weighed about the same as my stock and sealed up nicely with just a strip of Gorilla tape. The 25mm rim width is a nice upgrade. Very happy with my purchase.
Will Really impressed with this wheelset. Relatively light and very strong. Nice and true. I fitted 2.35 tyres to mine and they roll nicely. You cannot go wrong with this wheelset at this price. Great service from Merlin as always.
Lloyd If you want tidy wheels for a decent price look no further these wheels are strong sturdy wheels. I ordered these due to upgrading my folks and needed a wheel with a hub to take a 20mm maxle I have been on a couple of rides and these are excellent smooth running wheels. Five stars.
perry This time I bought the rear wheel to match the front I purchased earlier. This is great, light, stiff and rolls very well. Took a while to get used to the hub click noise as its very fast. 10/10 for this wheelset.
Jon A perfect upgrade for those on a budget. Instantly noticeable improvemnet on ride feel.
Pedro Plaza Very nicely built rear wheel, the hub is super quiet and with a lot of engagement points. The rims are light and wide, easy to set up tubeless with normal tape. The total weight is 960 grams, so they are light for enduro use. Totally recommended wheels!
Peteb Excellent light weight wheel for the money, needed a 20mm axle, wheel was lighter than original with 9mm axle and run perfectly true. Goes well with a wide tyre
Ballardski Nice light wide wheel set. Fatten up 2.4 tyre well. Build is fab with near perfect trueness. 120 point hub makes a great sound, but there seems to be more free play before engagement than lesser number engagement hubs. Not set up tumbles yet so can't comment on that side. Otherwise, well happy with the wheel set.
