For a set of budget wheels they performed very well on the single tracks of Dartmoor and they also look the part.
Bought these as a budget set of wheels to finish a build project but have to say they exceeded my expectations, build quality and appearance is excellent in my opinion, photos don't do them justice, I'm really pleased with them and backed up with Merlin's great service and prices there's really no cons to consider for a set of wheels at this price point .
Excellent product at an excellent price.....recommended!!!
Nice looking set of wheels, they roll nicely, I can't say how strong they are as they haven't been used in anger yet, but they are nicely made. This was the first time i had used Merlin, thanks great service.
Excellent wheels for the price, using them on a bike i have built as a hybrid for getting to work and back every day. Fitted with schwalbe Hurricane Kevlar 26 x 2.0 tyres they work very well and a good looking wheel that enhances the bike.
Great looking wheels (got them in black), nice and light with super smooth bearings. Great value as well
My rear wheel needed replaced but when I found these at this price I bought the whole wheel set. The quality of the build was good as you would expect from Shimano, I had them out in some pretty sloppy conditions and none of the spokes needed any attention after the first few rides. People have said finding replacement spokes can be difficult as they are straight pull but I think in reality this wont be much of a real issue. The finish on the white rims is brilliant as well.
Look the Business and at the price and the typical merlin delivery speed its ace
Nice looking reasonably light weight wheel set. Not used much at the moment, but they seem to be a stiff wheel set and run nice and true. The only thing I'm not to happy about is the so called quick engagement free hub. To me, its no quicker than a standard free hub on a Deore rear hub, with 16 "clicks" for a full turn of the hub! As for Merlin, fab service as always. I put my order in on Thursday before X mas and they were delivered the day after......thank you Merlin!!
These wheels are a great pair, Its my second set as I now have a set for off road and a set with slicks for the road events. I do have a third set but a different make for when I`m on the turbo trainer. The complete package. Thanks merlin for yet again a brilliant service. Many companies could learn a thing or two about customer service from you.
Lovely looking definitely has the bling factor not ridden them yet but they look the part and that is always a good indication that they are the part. Mine are in black to contrast with the white frame.
For a relatively budget set of wheels, these have been pretty much spot on. They're certainly not the widest set of rims you can buy which you'll probably want to take into consideration when picking up a new set of tyres, but otherwise sturdy and smooth running enough and will do the job.
