Speedy deliverly; a snap to fit and really good quality shifting and weight for the price. I am an sram convert!
For the money seems a very good piece of kit. Fitted easily (though used old truvative instructions as this part doesn`t come with any) and only had one test ride but feels good, quiet, stiff and smooth. Looks better than on the pic due to bare metal finish to cut edges within chainrings. Didn`t weigh but didn`t feel unduly heavy. Would definitely recommend.
Great looking crankset and very smooth; bearings are very quiet and had transformed my hybrid!
Fantastic value crank that shifts gear effortlessly. I have a more expensive raceface crank on my other bike but this is fantastic, especially at the bargain price Merlin are selling them for.
Excellent and much lighter than my previous bottom bracket. Took it out on a 40km run last weekend and I am delighted with the performance. Slightly missing the strange pinging noise of my old bottom bracket lol
Classy looking in black, easy to fit, will take care to protect with helitape to keep cranks looking good. Decided triple required as I intend to link off-road sections with a fair bit if road. Fantastic for the price
No complaints, especially given the price. It only weighs about 100g more than the X7, and most of this weight is close to the centre of rotation where it is least felt.
The GXP system is a cinch to work with, but I offer some advice I learnt the hard way after stripping threads on my previous set : to remove the left crank arm, undo the inner 8mm hex bolt with the outer 10mm one still in place. In this way it works like a built in crank arm puller. It seems obvious after you do it, but can be confusing if you are unsure (and costly if you're impatient like me)
Vey similar to the Truvativ Firex - works well, straightforward GXp system.
Good looking cranks and very easy to fit. Also easy to remove with the built in extractor bolt. They seem spot on for the money.
I used to ride shimano chainsets but switched to SRAM a couple of years ago
I prefer SRAM durability and precision
The price on this x5 was superb
The gxp bb is also better over the long term than hollowtech
Service & speed of delivery was 1st class
Well made, very stiff and changes gear very smooth and quick. A bargain
This Sram X5 Chain set and bottom bracket is an amazing piece of kit, solid, smooth gearing, a spot on match for my X9 derailleur.
Works really well under pressure.
