Bought an XX rear mech to replace an older style XX rear mech that had some issues with the spring mechanism. The new one performed flawlessly once attached to the bike. I just did a 24 hour solo on the new rear mech. The shifting was crisp - it gave a satisfactory discernible click to signal that it changed gears, About 14 hours into the race I managed to hit a boulder with the rear mech quite hard - I assumed I was going to look down and find a mangled mess of carbon, but the rear mech was still there! Sure, the whack threw the indexing out a little, so I had to apply a little extra pressure to affect the shifts amongst the smallest cogs, but I was impressed that it was still functional and kept going for the remaining 10 hours of the race! It certainly relieved the concerns I had regarding the durability of carbon rear mechs.
This is the cats meow of derailleurs - wow.
Exactly what I hoped and more.. This mech does the job so well it changes gear seamlessly so t hat I can concentrate on the Terran looking good!!!
