The Goods In series had a bit of a half term break last week but it’s back with a vengeance. Lace-up road shoes, dinky GPS computers, retro saddles, wrong way round brakes and the best sticker of a pony EVER!
Giro Empire ACC lace-up shoes
Now how about these for some snazzy sneaks eh? Laces are making a bit of a comeback in the road cycling world. Perhaps not in the pro racing circles but for the well heeled (ha!) cyclist with an eye on retro looks with modern day performance, these Empire ACC shoes will be straight to the top of the shopping list.
Lezyne Mini GPS
The smallest and lightest cycling GPS computer available (30 grams). If you’ve been put off having a big clunky GPS on your bike – here’s your answer. It really is flippin’ dinky-do. Good to see that the price tag is rather small too for such a well featured product.
Bell Gage helmet
Hurray! A normal looking light weight helmet with plenty of vents. Plenty of adjustment but without any clunky or odd-looking gadgetry. Nice one Bell.
Topeak Mini Dual DXG MasterBlaster with gauge
140psi potential (we’d like to see the size of your forearms after reaching that pressure). Dual action pumping. SmartHead connector fits Presta or Schrader valves. Comes with a pressure gauge to make sure you can consistenyl achieve your desired 101.5 psi pressure.
Continental Giro 22mm tubular tyre
Buck the trend in fat clincher tyres and go all in with a skinny-as-heck tub. Obviously, you’ll need to have tubular flavoured wheels first. Or you could just use these super cool tyres as your daftest reason yet to build up a whole new bike! We’ve all done such things to a greater or lesser extent.
Wellgo V12 Copy flattie
Yes we are mainly featuring these due to the excellent sticker that they come supplied with. It’s almost worth the money on its own. Who wouldn’t want that cute little pony(?) stuck on their frame somewhere? Although the pedals are called ‘V12 Copy’ they don’t much resemble the DMR V12 really but if you want a more compact size flat pedals with sealed bearings – these may fit the bill.
Funkier Pro short sleeve jersey
The Funkier Pro Collection have all the latest technologies, modern designs and the very latest in materials from Funkier’s research and development. With Quick Dry Yarn Pique fabric, the Quick dry active protection ensures excellent moisture control whilst the UPF 50+ treatment offer protection from the sun. Added little features like 3 back pockets with one water resistant pocket make this a handy cycling jersey.
POC DO Blade Gustav Larsson Special Edition sunglasses
You may not know who Gustav Larsson is but you will still desire these shades. Baby blue front with white arms and splash of classic POC orange. Niceness in a nutshell. Did Gustav really sign every single pair with his tiny orange biro? He must have done. Respect to the Gustav.
San Marco Regal saddle
Peek-a-boo! One of the most popular saddles of the 70’s and 80’s is back. Available in black, brown, white and this brown honey option. Building up a retro bike? Here’s the saddle for you.
San Marco Rolls Titanium saddle
The absolute classic San Marco saddle. Alright, so it’s a bit of an obvious choice but with good reason. There’s some that say there’s never been a better saddle since this one. The only problem will be that your riding buddies never take their turn on the front because they all just want to sit in behind you and gaze at the gorgeous backside (of this saddle).
XLab Delta dual rear mount systems
More strange doohickeys from the Transatlantic Triathlon specialists. Their rear mount systems are for sorting out aerodynamic but accessible storing locations for your spares and repairs stuff.
Wrong way round Hope brakes
For all you mad people in North America and Europe who run your brakes THE WRONG WAY ROUND we’ve re-stocked our Hope disc brakes in US/EUR orientations ie. with the front brake on the left. Wrong, just wrong 😉
Castelli Cannondale Garmin Volo bib shorts
You don’t have to own a Cannondale or be a fan of the Cannondale Garmin race team to be interested in these magnificent bibshorts. New improved Kiss air seat pad. Affinty Lycra on inside of legs. Affinty BLC textured fabric on outside of legs. Giro Air engineered leg gripper. Once tried, nothing else is good enough.
MET Elfo kids helmet
We’ve featured the Elfo kids helmet before but not in this kick-ass zebra version. There are several staff members now contemplating having children (not with each other) just so that they can get this helmet. Whereas Kane here just tried to wear it on his own bonce.
Giro Apeckx shoe
Half the price of their lace-up Empire AAC but arguably a shoe that’s much more suited to the vast majority of road cyclists. Two Velcro straps plus top ratchet strap is a tried and tested formula that just plain works. Not a flimsy shoe but not a chunker clunker either.
Giro Herraduro and Terraduro MTB shoes
CheckourHerraduro | CheckoutTerraduro
The Giro Herraduro (on the left) is the company’s entry-level XC shoe that comes equipped as standard with the same comfortable, supportive fit that can be found within the brands premium shoes. The Terraduro (right) is a highly durable shoe built around a stout nylon shank that pedals like a pure XC shoe, combined with a grippy ‘Vibram’ rubber outsole that succeeds in inspiring confidence when scrambling over rocks and logs.
Muc-Off Limited Edition Team Sky Hydrodynamic lube
There’s not many other (okay, none) chain lubes that come supplied with a torch – a UV torch no less. The lube itself has a UV dye in it so by shining the UV light on to your chain you can see how much is on there and whereabouts it is. This should help prevent any excess wastage and offset the rather spendy price tag. What do you get the Tem Sky fanatic who has everything? Some of this.
ONeal Matrix and Jump MTB gloves
We’ve become an ONeal stockist. This has made the mountain biking Merlin members of staff very happy. Great stuff in vibrant designs that doesn’t cost the earth. If you want some ONeal stuff you’ll have to act fast before we’ve bought it all for ourselves!
ONeal Dirt knee guard
No-nonsense knee wrappings in a fabulous Ninja turtle green colourway. Also available in Smurfy blue and John Major grey.
ONeal Defender MTB helmet
Enduro lid. Lairy colourway? Check. Deep coverage down the back of the head? Check. Colour coded peak? Check. Cool magnetic chin strap buckle? Check. Decent bit of venting? Check. Massively overpriced? Nope. The Defender helmet is ONeal at their best. Chapeau!
