Goods In is back from its summer hols and is back in work. Here’s a bumper rundown of the new stuff that’s landed with us recently.
Lizard Skins Expert Machine grips and A2Z chainring bolts
Blue and orange are fairly common colours for bikes but in the world of colour-coded accessories those two colours have traditionally been under represented. But this is no longer the case. Hurray! If you want blue grips – we got ’em. If you want orange bolts – we got ’em.
Veloflex Extreme 22mm and Continental Competition 25mm tubs
The ends of the tub spectrum. Veloflex are a bit more trad. There’s nowt but sweet, sweet riding carcass on the Veloflex. Continental are all about the high tech. There’s fancy rubber compound and a Vectran anti-puncture belt on the Competitions. And 22mm versus 25mm tell its own story (having said that, you can can Conti Competition tubs in 19mm!) I’m not sure what my original point was now… er, tub tyres are basically too cool for school. Or something.
Muc-Off Individual Claw Brush
Sometimes when you’re cleaning your bike do you ever feel like attacking it in a rage because it’s taking so flipping long to clean properly? Well, here’s the tool for you. Even if you still feel like attacking your dirty bike, by attacking it with this aggressively and specifically shaped tool-brush you’ll find that you’re bike gets cleaner the more you attack it. Win-win.
Shimano Road Gear Cable Set PTFE
What was that we were just saying about blue and orange accessories? Here’s some more of the beauties. Hallelujah! You can now re-instate all of those blue and orange bikes back on to your new bike shortlist.
Ranking F One helmet
If you’re dinky and you’re quick you may be in luck. We only have a few of these super light, super airy lids left – and only in Small-medium size. It has a total of 23 vents. It weighs 230g. We have them in black or this carbon-effect colourway.
Assos HabBu and BonKa socks
Socks. With rAndoM capiTaLisaTIon in their names. From Assos. The HabBu is a merino sock for autumn chill riding. The BonKa is a thicker merino socks – mixed with something called “bioceramic”. We don’t know what this is really but it has the word ceramic in it so it must be brilliant. Fact.
Sport Beans Extreme watermelon
Just how extreme can a watermelon get? Sport Beans jelly beans have carbohydrates and electrolytes in them. These Extreme versions also have a shot of caffeine in them. Keep popping these in your gob and you’ll be flying along.
Clif Bar Energy Gel Shots
If you can’t be doing with carrying around a loose bag of jelly beans then how about some trad energy gels from Clif? They do all the usual things that energy gels but we especially like the Clif gels because of the litter-free design of the packs. You simply tear open the top as usual but the tear-off remains attached to the side of the packet. No hassle, no mess, no excuse for littering.
Halo Proactive Sport Shoe Spray
Do you have cycling – or running – shoes that smell like the cat has done something inside of them? I used to have a pair of retro Adidas trainer that pretty much instantly smelt of cat pee as soon as I’d worn them. If only this shoe spray stuff had been around back then and all of my stinky wee woes would have been avoided.
Hope F20 flat pedals
Honestly, you pay over a hundred quid for a pair of flat pedals and you then have to put the pins in yourself! We can imagine that most people will rather relish the task of putting the pins in themselves actually. Some riders will not doubt not screw in all of the pins; a bit of cunning gappery is all part of the flat pedal thang innit.
Look Keo Blade2 Carbon ProTeam Edition Ti Axle
Even non-roadie non-clipless riders appreciate these beauties. There’s something perfectly ‘now’ about the look of them. They’re a little bit modern-retro in a 90s-stylee but with a crisp and glam finish to them that is far beyond the capabilities of pedals from back then. If any pedal can tempt riders away from The Big S, it’s these.
IceToolz Pro Shop chain tool
Stop using your multi tool’s chain tool. Stop it. STOP IT! Make your life so much better with a big ol’ proper chain tool with a gert big handle and an overall heft and power that is far, far beyond the piddling chain tools found on multi tools. Stop that. Get this.
MET Buddy kids helmet
Okay, okay, so we feature the MET Buddy pretty much every week in Goods In. But how can we not? I mean, just look at this design! It’s fabulous. The Super Buddy also strikes the perfect balance between solid volume and air vents has created a well-ventilated helmet at a highly competitive price.
ONeal Element FR long sleeve MTB jersey
Built to look the part whilst being able to comfortably withstand the rigors of heavy MTB riding. This jersey includes useful features such as quick-drying, breathable materials that absorb sweat. High-quality jersey with mesh inserts in key areas for better ventilation and increased comfort. The design is based on Greg Minnaar’s signature kit stuff.
Lizard Skins DSP Race 3.2mm bar tape
“In use, the DSP tape is a really interesting bit of kit. The sticky texture give a completely different feel whether you go gloveless or not, and with winter gloves on, the friction pads on the gloves combine with the tape to give almost unparalleled grip. Plus the 3.2mm cushioning means that even if you’re new to riding without gloves, or you forget them when you leave the house, you’ll have no issues with comfort.” – Road Cycling UK
Campagnolo Record Ultra Torque 10 speed chainset
These are flying out so we’ve had to stock up on them. The Record crankset’s oversize axle system with outer cups is combined with a carbon fibre structure which is completely hollow internally. Not only is the main crank arm hollow, but also the small arms supporting the chainrings. Whit-woo! Bling bargains.
Northwave Husky Ceramictech socks
High cuff winter cycling socks with a soft merino wool fabric construction. Featuring “Resistex Bioceramic yarns to provide high thermal insulation on cold weather rides”. Ahah! So THAT’S what biocermaic stuff is all about. We can all now finally sleep at night knowing that the bioceramic riddle is solved. Phew.
Niterider Cherrybomb rear light
Most rear lights at the affordable workaday end of the spectrum are all much of a muchness these days, so you may as well go for that has a cool name. There is no cooler name for a rear light than Cherrybomb. Decision made. Next!
Marzocchi 320 LCR 51 Offset 29er fork
How much do you like coffee? Do you like it enough to base all of your major bike component purchasing decisions upon stuff that looks like it’s the same colour as coffee? If so, then this is the fork for you. Just look at those stanchions. You can keep your nasty naff Kashima coatings. Crema stanchions is what it’s all about here. And dig those red wiper seals too – the colour of bloodshot eyes. Perfect.
Rotor REX MTB 24/38T chainset
The new REX MTB cranks are based on the same successful Trinity Drilling System technology as all Rotor cranks, which helps reduce weight and maximise stiffness. Manufactured by forge and CNC machining, its 30mm axle makes REX the perfect weight to stiffness balance. Comes with a free PF30 botom bracket but will fit most other frame types with the correct bracket.
Shimano UN55 square taper bottom bracket
A fresh delivery of one of the oldest products that we stock. Much has been written about Shimano UN square taper bottom brackets over the decades. They just work. They’re not light. They’re not super stiff. But they last and last and last and last. Long live the UN55!
