The biggest edition of Goods In EVER! A whopping 40-odd new products photographed and captioned for your pleasure.
You might want to get get yourself a cup of tea before diving into this little lot…
Astute Skylite Taca SR and Taca VT saddles
Astute are a new name on the Italian saddle scene. What is it with Italy and having loads of saddle manufacturers? Anyway, the Skylites are a no-compromise, high-end incarnation of Astute’s Skyline Taca saddles. The shape is pretty racey but withut being ridiculously niche or harsh. The SR has a solid top whereas the VT has a pressure-relieving hole in the top.
Avid Code disc brake
The Code is arguably Avid’s nicest ever looking disc brake. Satin grey with silver and a bit of white graphic work. Nice. They’re also really flipping powerful. No nonsense braking doesn’t have to mean putting up with a pig ugly or dull as dishwater brake on your bike.
BBB BSO-11 ThermoFeet socks
If you’re averse to wearing long socks on your bike no matter what the weather is doing, then these thermal short socks are for you. But really you should be contemplating making the move to longer socks. It’s not 1995 any more you know.
Castelli Gregge 12cm socks
Checkitout (this is an old post and the linked content no longer exists)
Now we’re getting somewhere. These are more like the Official Fashion Police length of socks that we all should be sporting these days. Mountain bikers (as ever) are leading the way when it comes to socks. Mark my words, it’ll not be long before we see 20cm sock cuffs as standard on the road.
Castelli Narcisista shoe cover
Checkitout (this is an old post and the linked content no longer exists)
God bless Castelli and their insistence on not calling these things overshoes. But they’re overshoes aren’t they? Ribbed overshoes with scorpions on them no less. These are more your chilly weather rather than downpour/arctic condition. They’re good for temperatures hovering around fridge-level (4 degrees and up). They’re much suppler and – let’s face it – less clumpy looking than most hefty overshoes.
Castelli Sottile Due gilet
Castelli blue is one of the best colours in cycling at the moment. And it’s not just restricted to their jerseys and softshell jackets. They’ve even managed to somehow get it to work on their lightweight windproof gilet. Having said that, you’ll have to mindful of what you’re wearing under it because it’s transparent and the wrong colour under-garment could scupper your aesthetic. We’d opt for a plain white jersey underneath. Not at all practical. But that’s not the point is it?
Craft Siberian bootie
Siberian bootie? I think I’ve seen that film on the internet. Siberian is Craft’s “it’s-flipping-cold” range of clothing. A specially super stretchy form of neoprene does away with the need for any zips or velcro closures. The resulting minimalist overshoe is one of the oft-neglected stars of the overcrowded overshoe market.
Defeet Woolie Boolie 2 Black Sheep socks
These black sheep socks are white. Well, they’re more sort of sheep coloured actually. Here’s what Grit.cx had to say about them: “Even when wet, the socks have kept me pretty snug, and they’ve also dried out surprisingly quick when sat in a pub or cafe mid ride. If buying for winter boot duty, be aware of the slight downside that is the slightly bulkier nature of wool. Otherwise a brilliant, warm and useful pair of socks for outdoor use.”
Halo Nanuk fat bike tyre
These are lighter than your average fat bike tyre (1090g). These white one are also more of a softer compound than your average fat bike tyre (55A durometer). Yes, we are talking performance and technical advantages about a fat bike tyre. Just goes to show how even the most “just for fun” bicycles end up being absorbed into the world of marginal gains.
Renthal Apex stem
Renthal know the score. The longest length you can get this stem is 70mm. The shortest you can get it is 40mm. It goes without saying that if you run Renthal bars then you just know that they’re going to look even better when paired with a Renthal stem. And from a function point of view you’ll struggle to find a stem as stiff, crisply made and strong as this one.
Defeet socks
We’ve had so many socks arrive lately that we’re planning on doing a whole Goods In ‘special Edition’ just about socks. We reckon that would go down very well on Instagram – the home of cycling sock pics!
DMR Muta lock-on grips
New grip from DMR. Any new product from DMR is always worth a close look. Includes alloy end cap. 135mm length dual compound with spiral grip pattern. 30mm dia. Not too fat, not too thin, for use with or without gloves. Rigid centre core is relieved in the palm section of the grip allowing a window of effective extra thickness for giving extra comfort.
Fi’zi:k Superlight Classic bar tape
Yes we are only including this bar tape because of this cute Italian-flag layout photograph. Bellissima!
Hope bearings
Cyclists like Hope because they’re easy products to live with. You can get spares easily and inexpensively. Hope hubs and Hope bottom brackets take away the hassle of servicing.
MET 20 Mile Urban Ladies and Mens helmets
Okay we can see why these helmets are called “Urban” (answer: it’s cooler than saying “commuter”) but why are they called “20 Mile”? Do they explode should you attempt to ride 21 miles? And since when did the French start to use miles instead of kilometres? These questions need answering! Can you help? Comment below. Please.
Moozes Lola womens bib shorts
Bargain braced bibs alert! Very breathable fabric used on the braces. The braces have quick release clasps – easy to click on and off. Handy for toilet stops as well as those times where you just might not want to wear the bibs at all.
Muc-Off Detailing brush
Awww… what a cute little brush! If you’re one of those cleaning obsessives who absolutely must have the absolutely most appropriate brush for every specific part of your bike, Muc-Off are here to help. This brush is ideal for reaching hard-to-shift dirt on hubs and other tight areas. Durable nylon bristles and rubberised impact zones for maximum protection on delicate finishes.
Muc-Off X3 chain cleaner
As well as the excellent and robust chain cleaning machine, you’re also getting a bottle of Muc-Off’s fabulous chain cleaning fluid. This revolutionary little liquid can be either sprayed over the drivetrain or poured directly into the top reservoir of the machine, which is then released by a control button. This ensures the application of the cleaner is quick and easy to control. Neatness in an otherwise messy procedure.
Northwave Torpedo Plus shoes
First things first, no you don’t get one white and one black shoe. Northwave did actually used to do mismatched shoes (back in the 1990s) so it’s understandable if you were thinking this was the case. If you do want to rock the nineties Northwave look then simply find someone else who want sthe same model and size shoe as you and get them to order a pair at the same time as you. Then give each other a shoe. Simple. Ahem.
e.thirteen Extended Range Cog
If you’re going to have a comically huge cassette sprocket on your bike you may as well not be shy about it. Bung some bling on there and be proud of your dinner plate. What are extended range cogs all about? Read this blog.
One Industries Ion MTB shorts
These are perhaps not the shorts to be getting for winter time BUT if you like plan ahead then these are a bit of a steal at the mo. Lighter weight, 4-way stretch material with a couple of strategically placed vents. They make for mighty fine spring-summer baggies.
Race Face Agent winter shorts
Waterproof shorts aren’t anything new but these are arguably the first waterproof shorts that aren’t too chilly and flappy to wear when it’s drenching out there. Fully seam-sealed 3-layer waterproof short. Main body fabric is soft hand 90% polyester, 10% lycra DWR treated to repel water. Outer fabric is laminated to a water-proof breathable membrane (10,000mm; 10,000g/m2) and backed by durable, lightweight mesh. Soft and not-cold when against skin.
Race Face Bob Cable Knit Toque
A cable knit toque. A cable knit toque? A CABLE KNIT TOQUE?! It’s a bobble hat, Race Face. A bobble hat. We’ll let you off just this once though because this really is a might fine bobble hat.
Race Face Atlas 35mm 35mm stem
That’s not a typo. We meant to put “35mm” twice. This is a 35mm long stem that accepts 35mm diameter handlebars. There are very few products out there that are as 35mm-flavoured as this one. If you’re not heavily into your 35mm’s then it’s also available in a 50mm length too. As with anything from Race Face with Atlas written on it, it’s a totally sorted product that combines style, function and reasonable price.
Prologo CPC New Nago Evo Nack Alberto Contador Replica saddle
Checkitout (this is an old post and the linked content no longer exists)
Doesn’t look much like Alberto Contador to me – arf! I think the red-yellow-pink striping refers to the leader’s jersey from each of the three Grand Tours (Vuelta, TDF and Giro). This is a pretty full-on saddle. Loads of tech. Loads of colours. Loads of panelling. Loads of money.
Prologo Kappa Evo Dea T2.0 women’s saddle
Checkitout (this is an old post and the linked content no longer exists)
An affordable performance saddle for female riders. There aren’t many saddles like this out there. “The Prologo Kappa Evo DEA is a striking saddle with its bold white and black colourway microfiber cover, semi-round profile and sloping nose. The Prologo Kappa saddle come with a light layer of polyurethane foam padding and sits on chromoly steel rails, which are etched with position markers. It’s also available in a matt black finish and black with red highlights. A good all-round women’s specific saddle.” – Cycling Weekly
Race Face Strafe and Renthal Medium lock-on grips
CheckoutStrafe | CheckoutRenthal
Grey grips are in. But which grey grips are you gonna choose? If you’ve got big ‘ands then go for the Race Face Strafe. If you’ve got normal sized hands go for the Renthal Mediums.
Race Face Team Chute Waterproof MTB jacket
We should really have got this jacket out of the bag for the photograph but we were a bit afraid of just how orangey it is. This jacket is made form the same material as the waterproof shorts described above. It’s softer, more supple and warmer to the touch than a lot of other waterproof fabrics. It’s more suited to sessioning woodland trails and high mountain hike-a-bikes than raging around a cross country circuit.
Sealskinz All Weather XP gloves
Finally a winter glove you can Instagram with! The finger and thumb of this glove has a special material on it that works with smartphone screens. No more licking your glove fingertips or using the tip of your nose to unlock your phone or take a picture. Truly we are living in amazing times.
Sealskinz Halo and Lightweight Halo overshoes
CheckoutHalo | CheckoutLightweight
The Halo overshoes are one of the those classic “why did no one do it sooner?” products. You see those red circles on the hang-cards? They’re red LED lights. They fit inside little portals on the back of each heel of these overshoes. Any extra visibility on the roads is a good thing – especially if it’s in an eye-catching location that moves around. The original Halos are fully waterproof. The lightweight versions are water resistant and a bit thinner.
Shimano Womens WR42 SPD-SL shoes
Checkitout (this is an old post and the linked content no longer exists)

A snug, durable, breathable shoe which transfers power to the pedal and comfort to the rider. Low-profile, lightweight glass fiber reinforced-polyamide sole. Weight: 523 g for a pair in size 40
Supacaz Super Sticky Kush bar tape
We’ve just had to re-stock on neon orange Supacaz bar tape. Seems like orange really is the new black. Or that a whole load of bikes have come with orangey colour schemes in the past couple of years and folk are just getting round to replacing or upgrading their bar tape. The Supacaz stuff really does appear to have gone down a storm. Much better than anyone – even Supacaz themselves – ever predicted. The power of squidge and the allure of a very nicely designed end plug eh?
Tacx Ant+ Micro USB Dongle for Android
Did you ever think when you were a kid that you’d be using the word “dongle” with a straight face? Such is life. With this wireless ANT+ dongle (heehee) receiver for Android devices you can link any smartphone or tablet with micro USB input to any device that communicates via ANT+, such as a heart rate monitor, speed and cadence sensors, sports watch, GPS device or bike computer.

Sportsbalm Recovery Series Cooling and Heating SOS gels
CheckoutCooling | CheckoutHeating
What would happen if you put both of these gels on at the same time?
Colnago Master X-Light
Checkitout (this is an old post and the linked content no longer exists)
Any excuse to feature this piece of bicycle craft. We’ve just built up a dinky 51cm Colnago X-Master Light. It was certainly one of the most fawned over bikes we’ve had in for quite some time. Even people who don’t ride road bikes – people who have never heard of Colnago even – we’re all stopped in their tracks by the Master.
Dexshell-a-go-go!
Waterproof extremities-wear. Gloves, socks, hats. This sort of apparel has really improved over the past few years. It’s nowhere near as chunky and clunky as it used to be.
