The couple behind MET, Massimiliano Gaiatto and Lucianna Sala, used to work at Massisilano&#8217;s family business Brancale, which was a popular brand of shoes and helmets in the 1980&#8217;s. They are very proud of the fact that almost the whole process takes place on their site in Italy. Everything from the design and shape of vents, the 3D printing of pre-production models. Robots then cut out the vents before polystyrene is injected into the inside the outer shell. The final stage sees the internal fittings, strap and any peaks or stickers attached. Through this process of producing pre-production prototypes, MET meticulously recycle off-cuts and water used in the manufacturing process goes on to be re-used in the company toilets.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.merlincycles.com\/met-parachute-mcr-mips-mtb-helmet-150357.html\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"470\" height=\"470\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.merlincycles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/58191_met_parachute_mcr_mips_mtb_helmet.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-35951 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 470px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 470\/470;\" \/><\/a><figcaption><a href=\"https:\/\/www.merlincycles.com\/met-parachute-mcr-mips-mtb-helmet-150357.html\">MET Parachute<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Test of Time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to MET, if you don&#8217;t damage or crash in your helmet, it should offer a similar level of protection, and effectively last, for around 8 years. After this time the materials in manufacture can start to degenerate and offer lesss protection. Over the years MET have provided helmets for all the top names in cycling.
