Amflow<\/a> has quickly earned a reputation for producing some of the most capable e-bikes on the market. We took the new PX Carbon Pro to our local trails to find out whether it lives up to the hype.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bike Itself<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Building on the success of the PL Carbon and PL Carbon Pro, Amflow<\/a> has created an e-bike that not only features a more refined, progressive geometry but also offers an impressive level of adjustability. Thanks to adjustable headset angles, chainstay length and bottom bracket height, riders can choose from up to 40 different geometry configurations to tailor the bike to their riding style and the terrain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The standout feature, however, is the new DJI Avinox M2S motor. Amflow has once again raised the bar with an upgraded drive unit that builds on the already impressive Avinox M1. The new M2S delivers an additional 500 watts of peak power while retaining the same compact design and class-leading power-to-size ratio as its predecessor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The premium specification doesn’t stop there either. Fox Factory<\/a> suspension, Magura<\/a> Gustav Pro brakes and a SRAM<\/a> X0 drivetrain are just some of the high-end components that make up this impressive build.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riding Impressions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A trip to Longridge<\/a>, near Preston, provided the perfect testing ground for the new PX Carbon Pro<\/a>, with steep climbs followed by short, technical descents and the occasional jump thrown in for good measure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The climb to the trails\u2014normally a hike-a-bike for anyone on a non-assisted bike\u2014provided the Amflow with its first real test. In Boost mode, the bike delivered more than enough power to tackle the ascent. The combination of loose terrain and steep gradients meant I still had to stay low over the bike to maintain traction, but the motor’s smooth power delivery made technical climbing feel remarkably manageable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What really stood out on the climbs was how naturally the motor delivered its assistance. Even with minimal pedal pressure, the bike responded immediately, making it easy to restart after stopping midway up the hill without needing to push to a flatter section first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once on the trails, the bike’s handling impressed from the first descent. Despite not being set up specifically for my riding style, it offered excellent support on some of the steepest sections and inspired confidence where the terrain itself might not have done. Although the PX Carbon Pro is marginally heavier than the PL Carbon Pro on paper, I found the difference virtually unnoticeable while riding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I expected the extra weight to be more apparent in the air, but after sending the bike over a handful of drops and jumps, it felt composed and reassuringly stable, giving it a planted feel without sacrificing confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite our relatively short but demanding session\u2014climbing almost exclusively in Boost mode before descending in Trail mode\u2014the PX Carbon Pro still had a surprisingly generous amount of battery capacity remaining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Final Thoughts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After a short but demanding first ride, the Amflow PX Carbon Pro left a strong impression. Its combination of immense climbing power, confident handling and highly adjustable geometry makes it a seriously capable trail e-bike, while the impressive battery performance means there’s plenty of range left for longer days in the hills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
