Very pleased. Total downpour for 3 hours and kept me dry. Tail is longer than my other rainwear and didn't ride up so no soggy bum. I'm 162cm, 54kg and small a good fit including sleeve length.
Great quality jacket, quite waterproof. However the size is a bit snug so if you like to layer, may need to upsize
A great jacket. Bought to carry as an emergency spare when riding in the hills. It easily folds up small enough to go into a jersey pocket. It is only fractionally bigger than my windproof. It has a small pocket on the back which is a nice touch. You can transfer a bar or two across so you don't have to reach under the jacket or stop.
Usual Castelli sizing. I buy medium in pretty much every brand but ended up getting a large. Fit is good. Snug around the body, long arms, long back.
Did some wet rides in it. It works. Fully taped seams meant I stayed dry and more importantly warm. It was cold which meant I didn't get too sweaty. Like most waterproofs it probably couldn't cope with high intensity riding - but in those case you wear a windproof/gillet or just get wet.
Would recommend for changeable rides where you need more protection than a windproof but won't be wearing a jacket all day.
Very good waterproof bought to replace same one destroyed in a tumble, does exactly what you`d expect, it`s Castelli so size up. Fast delivery and great prices from Merlin as usual.
Have used in wet weather where it repels the rain very well - you can see it beading up and dripping down. Very warm too, so much that I had to slow down in temperatures above 10C otherwise I overheated.
I bought this jacket a few weeks ago and have now used a few times. I found the sizing to be as per the Castelli sizing. I am around 5' 7" and 170 lbs and went for the large . I have been wearing a couple of layers underneath due to cold weather and the top fits okay . It is a race fit so I knew it would feel slightly snug but its a good fit. So far it seems to have kept my upper body perfectly dry even when my bottom half was soaked through. Breathability seems okay also . You may get better breathability on Castelli tops that are far more expensive but so far so good. I just need to check now how to wash it when required to ensure I do not damage its performance.
Just perfect for rolling up in to a pocket when the weather is a bit suspect. Also acts as an additional layer on cold winter days. I'm normally a medium size but correctly went for the large.
Great waterproof jacket, as most Castelli products are, fit is tight, especially over a winter jacket, but once in the riding position it's ideal. Long tail ensures that your rear is kept dry. Bought this for an amazing price from Merlin cycles and service and delivery was up to their usual very high standard.
Bought this for my husband and was as described, nice and lightweight able to fit into back pocket.
Perfect, good fit, keeps me dry and can be stashed in a pocket when the rain has passed over!
I have not used this in the rain yet but the quality looks typically Castelli. They say it is reasonably breathable but not for full on racing. Just a note on the sizing. I went for a Large but could have got away with XL without being too flappy. Large is OK over a jersey and winter jacket with bars and phone in the back pocket but just OK. I am 175cm and 72kg. I buy L in Sportful/Castelli and M in dhb. The jacket packs down to fit into a jersey pocket.
It started raining on a 200 km ride, so I put it on for the first time. Bright fluro yellow (good for safety), it fitted well, a nice race fit. For the next 5 hours the rain was on-off but I stayed dry. What was especially good was no dampness from perspiration even though it has taped seams. Zipping up and un-zipping was easy, also nice to see a decent tail flap to stop the wet pockets. Thumbs up from me!
Timely purchase! Caught in a downpour riding yesterday. This jacket is absolutely waterproof. It's form fitting but light and comfortable. Fantastic piece of kit. I'm 6'5", 178 and always buy a large in Castelli tops.
