Castelli Squadra Long Jacket, the emergency cape - water and wind resistant.
A lightweight packable shell, ideal for stuffing in your pocket in case of rain on those showery days. The Squadra Long jacket will keep the worst of the rain and wind off when needed, while still being small enough to pack into your back pocket or saddle bag. An essential item for every ride.
The "emergency" cape: water and wind resistant, yet packs away easily
Coated nylon fabric with water repellent treatment
Ventilation louvre openings on sides for breath ability
Reflective piping on sleeves and back
Cut long in back to protect from wheel spray
Lightweight, good Castelli quality as you'd expect. Feels like it would get really warm, not that well ventilated but will provide good protection from showers on those days when the forecast is 50/50!
Fits good and is exactly what you want from Castelli, can fold very small
The Castelli Squadra Long Jacket is perfect for early morning rides during the cold months. Durable and light weight it acts as the perfect barrier to block out the wind and light rain.
Good windproof lightweight jacket. The fit is perfect for me, size large, I'm 5'11" and 180lbs.
Great jacket to keep you dry in very wet conditions
Nice and lightweight. Rolls up or folds well to fit in a jersey pocket. Light rain bounces off nicely, and good wind resistance and fit.
Bit of a boil-in-the-bag job but it's only for emergencies so not a problem. Keeps you dry in those spring/autumn showers and packs down small once the weather clears.
This isn't 100% showerproof, but good enough to keep the wind out. Loose fit like a sail, but you paid what you get. Go get the Gabba if you want a element proof race cape.
Fits nicely into jacket pocket. Great for riding on days when you expect occasional showers rather than steady rain
Nice Shell jacket, good for short to medium rain jacket. Which is what I intend to buy for. Water will eventually soak through hours of rain but in that case you got the wrong gear on and should have checked the weather report!
Not worn it in anger yet, so can't comment how effective the jacket is when the weather turns, but it packs down small to fit in my jersey pocket so it ticks the box in that department.
Light and handy to fit in back pocket in case of rain etc. Good fit with vents to the rear.
Nice jacket, great price. Definitely go up at least 1 size, it's a tight fitting item.

The jacket was delivered quickly and fitted well (I'm a 46" chest. The jackets includes gills which allow air flow out of the jacket so stops ballooning. The material is waterproof when caught in a downpour but quickly drys due to the lightweight material. Only issues I'd say is the lack of any pockets.
Quality quality quality! Great jacket it oozes class. I can't wait for the rain to come.
Sizes are snug though. I'm a large at 11st 12 and 5"11
Great packable jacket that fits perfectly in jersey pocket for those British summer rides. Great delivery from Merlin as always
Great item, looks good (black), yet to test rain\shower effectiveness. Im a 39-40 chest and went for large as wanted some space underneath for thinner\thicker jerseys depending on time of year: fit was spot on.
Again, be careful on sizing... I had to order 2 sizes bigger to get the jacket to fit. For the price the Squadra is a fairly decent jacket. It keeps the rain off well and does a decent job at stopping wind chill too. Having said that the jacket is a sweat box. Despite the squadra having vents at the back to attempt to keep you cool you still end up overheating and getting really sweaty on the inside. Perfect jacket for putting in jersey pocket for those unexpected showers but I wouldn't use as my primary rain coat. All in all the jacket does what it says. Pretty happy.
Good value emergency jacket. Not the most breathable but works well in case you are caught out in a shower.
Fit is a little on the short side but I ordered my normal size to prevent excess flapping in the wind.
Nice lightweight jacket that fits into the pocket for when an extra layer is needed. Went up 1 size larger than normal and glad I did. Would have been nice if it came with a storage pouch but for the price it's great value.
Delivery from Merlin was very quick!
Excellent item, lightweight, fold to small size so easy to fit in back pocket. Used in light to heavy showers and keeps out water. No ventilation so does cause some sweating but none too much to detract from quality.
I have found the jacket to be of excellent quality, sizing is pretty much spot on so if you don't want it tight and fitting then go for the next size up or be prepared to wear just a thin jersey underneath it. Definitely only an emergency rain jacket, don`t think about using it in the recent rain storms we have had, other than than if you are looking for a fitted rain jacket for those emergency then this jacket is perfect and will easily fit in a jersey pocket.
This jacket is great, has a good cut for the bike and packs down well for a jersey pocket. Its not the most breathable, but keeps the wind and rain out. As usual, the service from Merlin was excellent
Was looking for something that I could easily fit in my back pocket if caught in a shower or for some extra warmth if it turned cold. This jacket does it with style at a really good price. Went for the black in medium, 5` 10" and 70 Kg. Wasn't sure it would be large enough given Castelli sizing but it fits perfectly
Brilliant compact lightweight jacket. I'm 5 ft 7 inch / 11st and went for the medium, good streamline fit.
Italian quality yet again ,great jacket!
Excellent, really useful to have when you aren't that sure how the weather will be or if its quite cold and or windy. It fits really well and folds up to easily fit in the pockets on my shirt.
Excellent product. Castelli is the best brand of Bicycle clothes...

Sizing is on the small side as other reviewers have commented but overall seems a good product from a great brand.
Good price and quality with a great fit. Folds down small enough to fit in a jersey pocket. Stuff sack would be nice but at this price you can't complain. I have the Legarro jacket aswell and this (Squadra) is a bit longer and therefore a touch more practical.
Legarro is slightly thinner and lighter with a stuff sack but twice the price of this. If i had bought the Squadra first i would probably have not bought the Legarro.
