Castelli Velocissimo IV Bibshorts - SS19
Castelli Velocissimo IV Bibshorts - SS19
Velocissimo is Italian for fast, very fast. But this short is focused on comfort, so it’ll just seem like you get there faster. Castelli have given it a new anatomical shape that moves stitching away from areas that can annoy you, and even managed to completely eliminate the leg-ending elastic band by borrowing technology we developed for the Premio short. The KISS Air seat pad is the choice of some of the Team Sky riders, so you know it’ll stand up to your 200km rides.
- Anatomically constructed for exceptional fit and comfort in Pro Dry Soft fabric
- New Doppio waistband for extra stretch around the stomach area
- KISS Air seat pad for all-day comfort
- Raw-cut leg ending with silicone vertical gripper keeps short leg in place without pressure
- Flat-lock stitching
- Reflective heat-transfer viz strips for visibility
PJ Pretty tight fit. Very good quality material and craftsmanship. I'm 174cm and 72kg. Bought the large size and it's a good squeeze. It sits just above my knee caps - about 10 to 12 cm above and covers my quads pretty well - depending how high I pull up. The grippers are wide and very nice and stays in place. I feel that had I gone for medium size, the shorts wouldn't even get past my knees or rip the shorts while trying.
John Quality bib-have had 1 long ride in them with no issues
Harrison Chen These may be the older line of tech from Castelli but they are worth every penny! The fit is good, the materials top notch and the attention to detail really shows through with the little design features such as reflective paint on the back of each thigh that really show this brand knows what they are doing.
Mr Lee Good quality and comfortable for rides up to 60km.
Mrs Morris Hubby loves it! It’s very tight so went for his normal size but was snug. Said better fitted than baggy, so bonus! Hubby is very happy and says it’s a life saver ;)
Mr T Really comfy and fit perfectly, would recommend to anyone
Mr Dennis Riden in twice but very impressive, have Assos bibs at twice the price and would consider these to be better.
Steve Great bib shorts at a great price - I’d recommend going one size up on your usual size for the perfect snug fit.
Greg Comfortable shorts, I'm 187cm and 89kg and found the straps a bit short on XXL, but otherwise a great fit. Not taken for a long ride yet, but have been comfortable and feel light on short 1hr rides
Mr Sherriff Bought a size larger as recommended in the reviews, but still slightly on the tight side. Very comfy though.
Arnulfo Just love it, lots of support and comfortable
Daniel N New cut fits small, went up to a XXXL in blue. Leg grippers are great!
Carl I have been very happy with my purchase. I got them at a great price. As always upsize one or two with anything Castelli. The material is very good quality and the fit is supportive. I have tested these on long rides and had no problems with the chamois. The legs are long, which I absolutely love, but may not be for everyone.
Richard These are one of my first pair of Castelli bibshorts, I bought these along with a pair of Castelli Premio, and wore them both for the first time this week on my commute to work. Firstly, I am glad I took the advice of other reviewers and did not trust the size chart. I am 187cm, 90kgs with a 33 inch waist, I went for the XL and they fit well. The straps are a little tight to start when standing, but fit well when in a riding position. The Kiss Air pad is nice, but so far I prefer the Progetto X2 Air. Time will tell as to how they wear and keep their comfort. Overall they are a really comfortable pair of bibshorts that I would recommend to anyone.
ian The leg elastic rather than going around the circumference of the leg is positioned in vertical pieces and stops the nipping and chafing that you can sometimes get. Very comfy and great bib shorts.
Dan @ SG I live near the equator. With temperatures soaring at 30+ degrees celsius, the Castelli Velocissimo IV Bibshorts does a good job keeping me cool.
Robert Awesome and comfy bibs, I went for size L with the height 180cm and weight 63kg. I think I would fit to XL too, but in L, I feel more race-y and tight.
