Front light EL530 is Bright enough! powered by 4 AA batteries encased inside the unit it requires No wires to an external battery. There is no flashing function it's Just on and off. A cool light, made in Japan
Rear light LD1100 - Lots of LEDs to help you to be seen . powered by 2 AA batteries with two switches so you can choose to use one bank of LEDS or two. heaps of different flashing modes. Of Chinese origin
Over-all a nice combination at a reasonable price here...
Ultimately the best set of standard battery lights available on the market. Back light is especially clever allowing two rows of lights to be controlled separately. In addition there are LEDs at the ends increasing the overall visibility
So far so good - I have no worries about being seen with these on the bike.
Researched lots of reviews before buying this light set.
The front light is more compact than I expected based on other comments and gives a good bright usable light.
It has given good results for both road use and a canal tow path in the unlit countryside. The spread and power would not be good enough for real off road use but for my needs, perfect.
The rear light is bigger than I expected but once fitted to my seat post does not look out of place. Good variety of light patterns and effects, I especially like to two light rows that can be operated independently.
Another exceptional value product from Merlin, I got both lights for a couple of pounds more than the single front light from a competitor.
Overal very pleased.
Amazingly bright and value for money!
a really good set of lights for the commuter etc. very very bright. my last version of the front headlight lasted 12 years so i'd expect this one to last the same as it only broke when i dropped it (after 12 years i guess the plastic had become a little mnore brittle which is only to be expected)
