Colin Very pleased so far. I have been running one of these on my rear wheel for a few months. I purchased this one to kit out the front wheel. I ride bridleways and byways and these do seem to grip well in the wet. I'm running tubeless with no problems. They are fairly weighty but seem to be a good balance between robustness / weight.
Michael I opted for 2.2 TK tyres to replace a set of worn Maxxis Ardents in 2.25 on a 2014 Scott Scale carbon. I was generally happy with the Ardents but found that grip was lacking in wet conditions and wanted to try another brand. First the cons: They were a nightmare to set up tubeless compared to my old Ardents - maybe because of creases in the bead. I tried inflating them with inner tubes inside and leaving overnight but even this proved ineffective when using a track pump. Finally got them to seat along the rims using several CO2 cartridges. They are not the lightest tyres and feel a little draggy on tarmac. Rear tyre clearance on my bike is not great but Scott state that up to 2.25 is OK on the Scale. Now the pros: Very confidence-inspiring tyres. They appear to grip better than the Ardents but strangely seem faster off road. Also, the ride feels more cushioned particularly over rocky and gravelly surfaces. Not sure how the casing will stand up to the flint-littered trails in the South Downs but after an initial outing they appeared to cope just fine. I used Bontrager TLR sealant and they do not appear to have lost any significant pressure after a week. All is forgiven - I'm really pleased with these tyres so far. No, they're not the fastest on tarmac but if much of your ride is not off road maybe you should consider a cross/gravel bike instead of an MTB!
Attila Nice tires, huge grip, good price.
