Mr Przylucki My favourite base layer. The Windstopper front panel really works.
IOSIF Very useful if you want to avoid to carry with you extra clothes. Very effective after you 'd climbed up to the mountain and you are wet. You are ready to go down without put jacket. Not so useful when the temperature is to high but then the wind is what you need to feel cooler
chris Superb layer. Never seen this type before, but totally impressed. I wore it over a Helly Hansen Dry baselayer, with arm warmers, which meant I could use a 2 season jersey instead of a 3 or 4 season jacket. Very impressed, kept the wind and chill out nicely and is very comfortable. I'd recommend going up a size though and I would definitely buy again.
Andrej It does what it should but it could be bit longer. My friends also have this base layer and they also said it could be longer. But apart of it it is perfect product. Windstopper realy works and material is body friendly. Also it has nice touch. I recomend it.
Andy Smith Great base layer top, very warm and would highly recommend.
Mr Bukovec I am 175 cm and 82 kg-i ordered L size and it fits great. Like it
Frank from Sydney Beautifully made. I ordered an XL(I am 180cm,89kg). Fits well. I even wear it on cold days when I am not riding underneath my work clothes.
Mr Seddon Great baselayer. Does what it says. Great delivery time from Merlin.
Scott Oh wow! This base layer was instantly my favourite after its first use. Comfortable, fits well, stops the wind cut but doesnt get hot even under training sessions. Super impressed
Emile Works very well to stop any cold wind from the front.
Mr Pyke Still to be used looks like it will do the job. Quite a long fit so at 188cm:82 kg and slim build - the large is a good fit.
Mr Mclean Excellent product adds that extra layer without bulk and good windstopping protection on the front, highly recommended.
Stephen Very happy with top can be used with arm warmers and short sleeve cycling top on colder summer days
Ross Great fitting shirt, with Gore WindStopper panels in the front and on the shoulders. Fit's better as an XL than previous non-WindStopper Craft LS tops, which were a bit big.
Mr McQuoid This is perfect for those cold chilly morning ride. NZ
Greg This had me sweating underneath a non windproof winter jersey and vest. I had to ditch the vest. I'm not a winter rider so I probably over did it with the vest. It's thin but effective!
Paul Light, comfortable and well made. The front panel does stop the wind and this in turn keeps my chest nice and warm. If I am cycling very hard then then the from panel does become a little damp.
gplou Very nice base layer. I bought Large and it looks comfortable and snug but not very tight as it could be but I don't think that this is a problem (184cm 80kg 100cm chest).
Eadz Definitely the best under shirt I've ever worn for keeping me warm. A great fit and the soft, high neck is a real winner. 11 out of 10!
Mr Mitchell This base layer is nothing short of amazing. Up front it literally blocks the wind completely and you feel so comfortable without any overheating. Then at the back, it wicks away the sweat really, really good. Size wise, I always buy medium, size (39" chest, 33" waist) but from other reviews I opted for the large size and so glad I did. It`s a tight fitting top with no give at the front so if your a medium I would recommend the Large size. I plan on buying two more as they are perfect for our weather here in Ireland.
Carol Really good baselayer, works well once on, its working from the word go. Worth every penny so I bought two from Merlin at half price to other sellers, get one before they go they are hard to find
Ronald Love my Windstopper! As minimalist I can wear less layers on my morning ride with temps ranging from 41-60 degrees not too cold and not too warm!
Jeff A brilliant base layer for cold or windy days, it feels like a second skin. It is worth checking the sizing guide as there isn't much give, it could be a bit of a wrestle to get on if you get the wrong size!.
If it's windy but too warm for a windproof jacket the base layer lets you wear a long sleeve jersey for warmth over the top.
During the freezing weather we had recently I wore this in minus 3 (real feel minus 10) with a long sleeve jersey and thermal jacket. Before I had this base layer I would have a long sleeve merino base layer, long sleeve jersey and another two or three layers over that.
Jan Warm baselayer (apparently Craft do an even warmer one but this is quite enough) with windproof panels on the front and shoulders. These are useful and dont make it less comfy as they are stitched on top of the softer material which touches the skin.
Mr young This is a fantastic top good fit, I went a size up normally a large but went XL with this and fit really well. Even at full price this top is worth having.
Mark Soft against the skin layer for particularly cold conditions. True to size. Made beautifully in Lithuania
michael Simply brilliant windstopper second one bought
Mr Khalifa Al Bedwawi Lightweight anti-wind product from chest side only, high manufacturing quality
100weight This is an excellent Base layer, (I purchased the White version) providing a very decent level of protection from the chilly Autumn winds where it counts, and don't get sweaty behind the Wind-stopper fabric. Very pleased with this garment and the service, especially at the sale price I paid, thank you Merlin.
Mr Chung I am 175cm, 63kg. Small fits perfectly
Mr KENJI I chose size S, just the right size. My body 176cm/64kg , C93cm/W78. On a summer rainy day, it was not cold even on a 2000 M downhill
Mr TERRY Excellent kit, second one purchased first one lasted years. Does exactly what its designed for, and very light weight and warm
Mr Zilstorff Perfect innerlayer when temp drops. Have used this product for years, Quality is top, even after several of machine wash. I'm 189cm/80kg, large fits perfect
michael First class, worn once in near gale force wind on the moors, great wind protection.
Clinton Great quality and fit perfect for cold mornings that warm up a bit later (especially when combined with arm warmers). Good value for money.
Fry If you're going to ride at winter time you'll need one of these to stop the wind going straight through you, excellent base layer and not a bad price either.
anthony Fantastic product giving extra longevity to your summer Jersey going into autumn. Excellent wicking properties, chest never feels too wet given the wind proof layer. Also the wind proofing over the shoulders is an excellent addition.
Mr Jackson Only tried them on as it's too warm to wear them. They look well made & fit perfect, I could feel the warmth they retain in only that short space of time. I ride a recumbent so the wind proof panel is essential in this riding position, looking forward to wearing them in real situations, feeling positive.
Mr O'Driscoll A very comfortable base layer. Great when you want to keep a breeze off your chest but still wear a standard jersey.
Claus Wicks well and keps me cool slowly without chills.
Steve Burnell ARCC It does what it should - very well. Keeps the wind off your chest and wicks moisture away. Very comfortable
TMV The quality and Gore Windstopper panels are very good. A cheap price at 35.00 AUD. I am 162 cm and 59 kg, 92 cm chest, the Small size is good for cycling as it is slim fit. If you want to wear it for other purposes, including cycling(like running, trekking in the park), then order a larger size.
Mr Jokinen Can't go wrong with this useful garment. Quality, fit and sizing are spot on.
Ermk Craft quality is good and this is no exception to the norm. It is quite slim fit, so the XL was a bit tight and short for me. XXL was more comfortable. I am 1.94 cm 6 foot 4, chest 114 cm / 45".
Miss Chu Excellent base layer for cold & windy days! Stop the wind well and keep the body comfortable and warm. A must buy item in winter!
Steve O Great base layer that completely stops wind chill on the chest area. Morning ride today minus 2 degrees. Comfortable mesh back for maintaining body temperature. Best base layer I have bought.
Jojo Excellent for biking in foul weather. The windstopper is great for Minnesota winters. Very high quality and excellent function. In wet and cold weather, I prefer this layer to my wool layers as dries out faster.
C.Vogel This really feels like it is quality. The front panel fees like it will realy stop the wind. Now the missus wants one too lol.
Steve_S Really does what it says...stops the wind chill. Probably too warm much above 15C but on cooler days this allows fewer layers. Medium is good fit (38 in. chect / 34 in. waist).
Mr Fenner I've used Craft's cold weather base layers in the past with great success and was looking for something intermediate between that and an undershirt (which I also use).
The "Be Active" base layers work perfectly in the 45-60 F range. The price made this too good to pass up; I'm sure glad I didn't.
ChrisB Great bit of kit for changeable days. The Windstopper front panel keeps the cold off your chest on fast descents or if the wind comes up. Paired with arm-warmers means you can wear your favourite summer short-sleeved jerseys more.
Baines Good snug fit with plenty of body length and high collar. I've used this in temperatures down to 3 or 4 degrees as the only layer beneath a short sleeved summer top and been warm enough. The windstopper fabric works extremely well and I have found it to be almost too effective when climbing due to the minimal air flow through it (even with top fully unzipped).
Mr green Great piece of kit. Just at this time of the year when it's a little in between 2 layers this fits the bill perfectly transforming any summer short sleeve jersey into a spring/autumn one without having to resort to jackets or gillets. Love it.
Mr Lomborg Exceptionally good! Perfect temperatures between 5-20. Nice tight fit to the body!
Doug Bruce I am so impressed with this base layer, and rapt that I decided to buy two when they were on sale. They would be well worth the full price.
I bought size large after checking other craft tops I own. My chest is about 100 cm, waist 80 cm and the fit is perfect. Just got back from a cool, damp ride with this top under a light long sleeve jersey and was very cosy. Love it and looking forward to more rides with it through the winter.
Hurcomb I bought this base layer as part of my clothing for an 85K sportive event. I generally feel the cold and although I have a windproof jacket I thought it might be too much in the warmer spring weather. The Craft base layer plus a short sleeve jersey was enough to keep the chill out for the duration of the ride. I was very impressed by the windproofing and although it is a snug fit even after following the fitting guide, a base layer should be tight and it worked very well. Only time will tell how many washes it will take but the price, delivery and quality of the product was excellent. I chose the small size based on the sizing guide and it is a snug fit and doesn't hinder any movement required.
Wadey Fantastic piece of kit. Wore this under a normal short sleeved jersey on a cool and windy morning and stayed comfortable for the whole two hours. Definitely recommend
Gigi P An excellent product. I've ridden with the short sleeve version on early rides where the temperature was around 4 or 5 degrees wearing a regular short sleeve jersey over the top and some arm warmers. It kept me plenty warm enough until I warmed up. When the day warmed up and broke into double figures, I was still very comfortable. The front is completely windproof and the sides and back very breathable. I'm also going to buy the non windproof one for mid teen degree weather and the long sleeve version for deep winter. Definitely quality garment.
KevinC Fantastic and true to fit (medium - 5'10 athletic). I've been using it on all my rides out this spring. Feels great, a solid investment (I have two).
Mr contreras Another quality well designed product. Keeps you comfortable without overheating
Brown Perfect base layer for the Scottish climate, year round. Nice snug fit and comes low on the hips and back-side plus the usual quality garment I've come to expect from Craft.
B Resch I love the Windstopper front base layers. I can ride with my regular (non-fleece) team kit without the bulk/restriction to the pockets a vest (Gilet) can cause. I use it with arm and knee/leg warmers down to ~40F. On the other side when it warms up during the day you don't overheat. I had a 40F to 70F temperature swing on a 100 mile/ 9000ft ride this weekend and the setup was absolutely fine. The shortsleeve layout holds arm warmers in place well too.
LM from Texas I really like this windstopper tee shirt. Is very warm but still very light. I wear it with armwarmers that I can shed if the temperature goes up during a ride.
Mr Saarinen I don't know how I've managed without these! Perfect for spring/autumn chilly weathers. I had worried that the windstopper layer would stick to your chest when sweating, but it's not that noticeable nor unconfortable.
Roberto_Montreal Fantastic. Wore product in 10-15 Celsius with Fiandre Sportful jacket and was great. I'm sure that will be just as good from 0-10 Celsius with same set up and a long sleeve base layer.
York Brilliant base layer that's completely stops wind chill on the chest area. Comfortable mesh back for maintaining body temperature. Best base layer I have bought
Mark This product is fantastic. I particularly like windproof base layers for the Spring and Autumn, in conjunction with a jersey and arm warmers.
I have bought Craft base layers before and this one was so good that I immediately bought another. The fit is close and the sizing is accurate. This base keeps me very comfortable on rides that start at 4 degrees C, thanks to a decent thickness of insulation and that Gore windstopper front panel.
A wardrobe essential.
Mr Wharton Very nice undervest, perfect for chilly spring rides. The fit is excellent and the windstopper panel is well placed.
Mr Hunt Really impressed with this base layer, the wind stopper front panel is very effective at blocking the wind, the rest of the base layer is surprisingly warm, allowing me to wear summer jerseys (with arm warmers) down to around 10
Mr T Best base layer for winter that I`ve tried so far, offers both warmth and you won`t be cold in the wind protected area.
Jansen Perfect under shirt for days below 10degs. Nicely fitted, I ordered a small as I am pretty skinny but it still has plenty of length. Very happy. Great price.
Mr Pettitt Ideal for those sunny days when the wind still has a sharp cutting edge to it.
Mr Jimenez This is a great base layer! The chest area is of the same materials found in wind jackets. Your chest is protected from wind and the wicking properties of the garment are impressive. I did my first ride with this new base layer this past weekend and I was pleasantly surprised how dry it kept me. It is obvious to me that the quality of this product is very high. I plan to buy more Craft brand gear based solely on this purchase. They are top notch!
Mr Ng Comfortable, wind breaker works like wonder. Great for 18C - 22C
Gally Very happy with the base layer, good fit, good price and warm and toasty on a cold morning.
martin122 Great value windstopper base layer. Sizing is very good and the windstopper works very well.
Mr Naisbitt With a nice compressive fit and windproof front panels this certainly helps to keep the chest warm in the recent cold spell. Wicks sweat away pretty well too. Sizes true to guide. Would recommend.
Mr Hall As the weather is getting warmer down here in the South West, I was looking for a windproof base layer to wear under a light jersey as it was too hot for my winter jersey and merino base. This product from Craft is just the ticket. Light, comfortable and windproof. Sizing is realistic, this is a truly excellent piece of kit and a bargain from Merlin.
Mr whymark Wonderful base layer, allows me to ride with my short sleeve jersey and arm warmers even in the recent pretty cold weather. Great price and fantastic delivery
Mr Asprey Very good at keeping the cold off your chest highly recommended
Phil Harbour Craft make some excellent base layers and this one is no different. It's a really versatile piece of great for keeping your core warm on colder winter days with the short sleeves allowing you to regulate your temperature when paired with a good set of arm warmers, I was so impressed with the item I bought another one quickly! Worth going up a size from standard base layers as the windproof panel doesn't stretch
Mr McDowall Top quality base layer that fits true to sizing. Really good price and delivered super quick.
Vince Donnelly Excellent value and quality. I normally buy the Gore wind proof base layers but this is half the price and just as good
Mr Kay Very light weight and can really tell the difference in the cold weather
Mr Cheung Highly Recommend. Keep you warm in the wind. Good price
Mr Barclay The Windstopper front of this t-shirt really makes a difference and the Merlin price was great too. Feels like a top quality item.
Andy Mawby Brilliant top; turns a summer jersey into an autumn/spring jersey in one, easy, comfortable baselayer. Craft are cut long and thin, but are stretchy.
the pedalist Excellent! The front of the baselayer kept me virtually wind proof but not over heated. I paired this with arm warmers and worked as well as a long sleeved jersey. The service at Merlin Cycles was excellent as well.
Mr Simpson Very effective wind stopping base layer. Comfortable and a good fit. Great while on the move but doesn't provide a lot of warmth when stopped. Not bulky so can be layered with different tops of mid layers depending on conditions. Recommended!
LD Works very well. I really like this base layer. An absolute steal at this price, don't hesitate to get one.
JMesh Love this baselayer. It keeps me warm on a cold day.
Mr Ashcroft Brilliant item from Craft. I've already got a couple of Craft mesh base layers which have been excellent. Craft is much better made than many other popular brands and the sizings are more realistic. Having said that, due to the reduced stretch in the Windstopper material, I needed a size L where I usually wear M in the mesh baselayers. Road tested the item one chilly morning recently and it really does take the chill off your chest without over heating. Note the item is warm, not just wind protective. Also the material on the inside plucks easily.
