Cody Comfy, airy, and don't slip down like many knee pads. Don't be afraid to order down, not much range of change in the velcro
Mr Itong light and comfortable (mine)
Mr Kircher I have used these protectors for maybe 10 MTB-rides, and had one crash where my knee hit hard ground (ice). The fitting is ok, they tend to slip down a few cm (I never had knee guards that do sit perfectly without slipping). The protectors did their job when I crashed, but the impact is pretty heavy, the energy is not absorbed well, but at least they protect agains cuts and skratches. After 10 rides they already have a hole/cut on the back side. The velcro to adjust the size may damage lycra clothing. Size: as often with Dainese: go up at least one size!
Ozoutdoorsman Stoked. Fit well and stay in place. The breathability really can't be overstated, these are awesome you can really feel the air rushing in. The coverage in terms of protection is excellent and they are comfortable on long rides. I just wish we could do away with the velcro straps. I definitely recommend giving these a go especially in hotter climates like here in Australia, I'm far more inclined to wear them than I would be with other pads in summer.
Michael Very comfortable and fit true to sizing charts. Didnt bunch up behind the knees and kept me cool riding in Nevada. Great product. I'm happy and highly recommend. I've already used them for their intended purpose once and the impact was of no consequence. Love these.
Denys Absolutely beautiful knee guards. Pretty slim and super breathable.
Tom Excellent. Really comfortable and well ventilated
Dr K As regarding the size, you should follow the sizing chart of Dainese correctly. Protection is like a made to measure if you can choose your suitable size. I wear it with elbow guards when riding on a road. I would buy again.
Ms Allen Second time of purchasing this item (the first pair I had, the stitching went around one of the seams, less than a month after purchasing. These are comfortable, and durable, and (as long as they last!) I would highly recommend these!
James Great product. I ended up buying this pair after is already bought the mediums and found them too small. Even the large is still pretty tight, but the product works well so far.
Mr Yager Comfortable and breathable. Fantastic product
Mr Wilding-Taylor Nice and flexible, I'm confident they will keep my knees safe .my only gripe is they do slide down a tad, but most pads do.
Dr Mackenzie Very comfortable knee pads that don`t rub or bind on my knees while pedaling. The plastic pad at the front is a lot more flexible than the photos suggest. They`re the most well ventilated knee pads I`ve ever tried, and I think they`ll be great for warm weather rides. The Velcro straps have a decent range of adjustment, but they are quite thin, so can initially feel a bit odd - but once riding, I didn`t notice any irritation. There`s some silicon gripper around the top to supplement the Velcro strap, but I still found that I occasionally had to pull the top cuff back up (The protective cup over the knee seemed to stay in place though).
Matthew Best knee pads I've used and a good improvement on the previous version of the tail pads from Dainese. Do a good amount of pedaling in these with no propel at all. Only criticism the velco straps twist up if you but them in the wash which is a problem.
Liam After a 2nd close ground inspection in 4 years that involved stitches in my knee I thought I better try knee pads again. After the first stack 4 years ago I bought some 661 knee and elbow pads. The elbow pads were excellent and saved my elbows the last time. But the knee pads were more suited for downhill rather than XC, so were a bit uncomfortable for riding. So back to the shelf they went, and back to hospital for stitches I went. So I was on the lookout for some more XC specific knee pads. I read a few reviews and the Dainese Trail Skins 2 scored very well. I have done one ride with them and whilst I don't forget they are on, they are certainly not obtrusive and are not a distraction while riding. The knee protector I thought was going to be a hard plastic, but it is a much softer rubber like composition, which I imagine will give better shock absorption. They also let a nice breeze through the honeycomb construction which is a bonus living in Australia. The fit was not bad either, I went for a medium.having 39cm calves and 50cm thighs. A little tight on the calf maybe, but hopefully that will ease if I actually lose some weight!
Denny These are fantastic lightweight knee pads you can wear all day pedaling.
mati Great knee guard! Extremely comfortable, stays on the leg not slipping. Even got the chance to crash with it and it held great. Highly recommended.
Mr Thun This is my first protection gear I bought, I have tried many brands including the popular POC air. This is by far the most comfortable protection I tried. Stays up okay, I maybe adjust them a couple of times. Airy and very comfortable. You forget them after a couple of minutes. Size is quite big. If you are between, step down one size.
Mr Walker Upgraded from Trailskins V1 and these are great. Fit a lot better. The permanent curve in the shell does feel awkward when standing up, but dissapears when on the bike.
Nick So far so good. Fit well, didn't need to adjust them once in a 20km all-mountain ride.
Pemberton Wow. Love these. Almost look too nice to wear and get dirty. I previously has the original Trail Skins and loved them, but the elastic stretched out too soon. The elastic definitely looks wider on these, so hopefully they wont stretch out as fast (or ever). They are slightly heavier than the previous version, but they contour the knee a lot better and are even more comfortable (if that's possible). Price was reasonable. I would like to have more coverage on the outer, upper knee (like the previous version), but that's not a deal breaker (until I crash!).
Top Gum Velcro at top and bottom provide snug, secure fit. Protection is more flexible than I had imagined -- a good thing, as it readily bends with the knee. Would buy again.
