EBC Disc Brake Pads Sintered
RRP $18.97 Save 20%
EBC replacement disc brake pads sintered gold compound. Models available to fit most current brakes.
- It is commonly accepted that sintered copper alloy brake pads last several times longer than organic pads. These comments still ring true in the MTB Brake pad market.
- Unless you are riding a bike where the discs are marked Resin pad only meaning the rotors are unhardened and likely to suffer bad scoring if using sintered pads, then the best value for money and long life is the Gold range of EBC sintered brake pads.
- With a higher friction rating than anything out there EBC sintered gold grade MTB pads will last longer and brake stronger than anything you can buy. Made in the USA and a high quality pad, used as original equipment by the worlds greatest names in MTB brakes these pads are great value for money and for the everyday bike rider, these are the choice to make.
- All pad sets include high strength return springs and magnetic stainless backing plates.
- Disc pads for Mountain bikes have been around since 2002 and selecting the right compound for your needs is not only wise but essential for numerous reasons. EBC offer three grades of pad compound.

MitchellEBC pads fitted to replace the stock pads that with a new set of TRP Spyres. Still bedding in but so far way better.
Mr DaykinGood value for money and quality as good as Shimano or better. I don't understand why they do not supply a new pin. It would cost virtually nothing to include one. Hence 4*.
ShingGreat pads, replaced stock pads on TRP Spyre and the difference in performance is startling. Highly recommended.
Mr O'TooleSeem good value. Not really noticed any difference to the original ones fitted.
mhelanderGreat value, great long lasting pads.
Mr WilkinsonI've used EBC sintered pads for a number of years in both Avid 7's and Shimano XT calipers. Once bedded in properly, the pads are mostly reliable and continue to work year round, in the slop and mud.
Mr shareStopped me fine in all conditions!
IANExcellent brake feel and performance. Quiet and they last well too but your discs will wear quicker than if you use organic pads. Sintered pads well worth the extra cost over organic even allowing for new discs more often.
Mr WheelerFitted to Hope Pro II no issues, good alternative to OEM if you don't need the pin & spring clip
Mr WilkinsonThe best brake pads I've come across great wear rate even in wet sandy condition's
Andy TipladyGreat stopping power in both the wet and dry in conjunction with my TRP HY/RDs. They can squeal a bit when really wet though, but that's a small price to pay, when they work so well.
Mr GibsonHigh quality pads with awesome stopping power what ever the weather ..
Mr GibsonI was amazed at the difference in stopping power between these and the resin pads, usual high quality service from merlin .
Mr WaltonThese pads last longer than anything else I have tried, I will not use anything else now. Merlins super prices and delivery as usual.
Mr HAMPSHIRE2nd time I've bought these pads, 1st time for my Hope M4's, this time for my Shimano Deore brakes. Just like on my Hope M4 brakes difference in stopping power between these and stock resin pads is huge!!! My Shimano Deore brakes were always under powered on 160mm rotors but not any more!
Mr nashGood price, good quality replacement sintered pads. You can buy cheaper! But this is a false economy....they will just wear quicker.
Mr WilsonExcellent brake pads, fitted to Avid Elixir 3's, made them a lot better. Sintered over resin from now on for me!
Goose2k7Only used 3 times so far, bit of squealing from the front for the first outing but settled down nicely after that, just as powerful as the formula rx pads originally fitted at half the price!
Mr TurnerBought following a recommendation from a friend. Early days so cannot comment on longevity -v - yorkshire grit grinding paste but I can say they work very well in my Deore 596's
Mr morganFantastic, so much braking control on the rear brake, the best I've used on the bike for 2 years .
Mr HowlandFeb up with inconsistent bite and performance from cheaper pads I bought the EBC ones from Merlin and have been nothing but pleased that I did. Good bite even on the sintered. Bed them in properly and I'm sure they are lasting longer as well. As usual service and delivery from Merlin's was excellent.
Mr LuiThis is the good price and great performance of that brake pad.
Mr TomlinsonGood pads, noise free, stop the bike as well as shimano pads but half the price.
Mr hammondsVery good pads at a reasonable price. Fantastic Merlin service as allways
MartinAs soon as I got these I replaced the cheap ones in my bike long before their time and oh! What a difference, I haven't really tried others but these are good and I will buy again. First class service from Merlin.
Mr AshcroftA good value hard wearing discount product
Sir kokkinisStrong and smooth braking
Mr LoweI tried a pair of Clark's pads which were really cheap but had poor power and didn't last very long. These EBC pads have good power as good as the original pads and are lasting well.
Mr CookGreat price and superb service, nice to be able to get motor cycle quality brake pads for my MTB, many thanks Merlin Cycles your the best mail order company out there!
Mr ThompsonAs good as Shimano brake pads at a lot less money.
Mr ArmsonOrdered these EBC pads after trashing my previous pads at Cannock Chase (not EBC pads). These pads are amazing in the UK wintery conditions!! Can't wait for the summer when I can order EBC red pads :) As always with Merlin the customer service and delivery was spot on. Cannot fault in the slightest. Thanks Merlin :)
Mr HullGreat pads, do not take to long to bedin, good braking in wet and dry. Good price will buy again.
CrasherWell worth the money and the Merlin service is brilliant.
Mr harrisonthey are lasting well in the nasty english summer we have had. cannot fault at all
Mr SmithThey perform as good as OE pads and fit better than most other repros.
Mr hazeldenGreat pads and amazing stopping power. Would fully recommend. Next day delivery and
Mrs hughesI prefer these over the likes of DB and SS sintered. They are a nice middle ground product that offer decent performance / low noise / good value.
Mr pagevery good pads bought for my BB7s. fitted fine and promptly used in the alps on my orange 5, with exemplary results
Mr PerieThe EBC pads seem to fit very well, i haven't done enough miles on them yet but they seem a little noisy so far but stop well.
Mr McRobertsGoods arrived as and when promised. What more do you need to say.
Mr PeacockStop like the pros do! Tried and trusted. I got sintered for long lasting all weather stopping power but others are available to meet your needs wether it be race, down hill etc.
Mr MetcalfA great brake pad. Had been using "cheaper" pads before but they simply dont work as well. Best value quality pads that actually work and last.
Mr HymerBought these to replace original avid elixir pads. There is no loss of braking power compared to originals but too early to say if they are wearing better
Mr StandringSuper braking power, and a doddle to fit. Not as cheap as super star pads, but they last and fit easily!!
Mr hesbrookEBC have been making brake pads for motorbikes for years. Far longer than mountain bike disck brake systems have been around, with this in mind I decided to give them a try having previously beeen a fan of if "it aint broke dont fix it" I.E. stick to the brake manufacturers pads. I have recently fitted these pads to my Avid Elixir front brake and am NOT dissapointed. They feel better than the originals. Solid braking performance no noise or vibration. Would strongly recommend. And cheaper than the Avids. I have already bought another pair for when the back need changing.
SJCDo exactly what they say on the tin. Fitting was very easy to Avid Juicy 3's and they work well, dry and wet.
