Eddy Merckx Mourenx 69 Frameset - 2017

The Eddy Merckx Mourenx 69 is a lightweight, high-performance carbon fibre frameset designed to be built into a road bike which can handle long days on the road. Mourenx 69 refers to Eddy Merckx winning the 17th stage of the 1969 Tour de France. This heroic 214.5km ride from Luchon to Mourenx provides the inspiration for a carbon road bike frameset specially designed for long distances.

With a perfect blend of rider-friendly geometry including a slightly higher head tube and shorter top tube the Mourenx frameset includes a comfortable & compliant carbon layup in the seatstays which has been engineered to flex and keep you feeling fresher for longer while a super-stiff bottom bracket area ensures that all of your pedaling power transfers through to the rear wheel. This versatile frameset with its slightly more upright position makes it the ideal choice for your ultimate sportive bike build.

Geometry Information

I have built a bike with 105 based system. Today, I tried hill climb for 600m where I usualy tried my GIANT Defy advanced 2 (2015). The time is almost same to the best one although I used heavier wheels. This means higher performance of this frame. Especially, over 50 km/h range, this bike is very stable while shock absorption is very good. This frame is made in Taiwan. Cable routing is somewhat strange and difficult to change cables after BB instaration, especially for FD. Derailluer hanger must be adjusted before use. This frame comes with head set but you don't need press fit tools for head set. You need press fit tool for BB. If you need, you should consider facing of BB. I didnot do any facing but it works very well. I satisfied very much with this frame. This could be my main bike for long ride and hill climb, and down hill also.
Great price on a great frame. Arrived in U.S. in two days and two days later completed a build with Shimano Ultegra R8000. Rides and climbs great.
I bought this frame based on its reputation for handling. It lives up to that, inspires confidence on mountain descents. Rock solid under acceleration as well.
