The Eddy Merckx San Remo 76 frameset is a high-performance carbon road chassis ready to be built up into a racing machine which can handle the most demanding events out there. With a stiff, uniquely-profiled carbon frame the San Remo 76 features semi-aero tube profiles and includes a large bottom bracket area combined with oversized chainstays to give a super-stiff, responsive feel when you’re putting down the power. With internal cables and an aero profiled seat tube the San Remo 76 will cut through the air efficiently and help you hold your speed for longer.
The San Remo 76 frameset takes its name from the sprinter’s classic race - Milan-San Remo or ‘La Primavera’, recognised around the world as one of the toughest one day races in history, Eddy Merckx took part in the race 10 times, winning it seven times, with his last participation in 1976. If you’re looking for a high-performance sprinter's racing bike where aerodynamics, stiffness and power transfer are crucial in enhancing your results then the San Remo 76 frameset, inspired by those wins, is the perfect choice for you.
Fabulous frame! Great handling, particularly on very fast downhills, stiff and responsive. The frame has a very planted, secure feel in fast long turns. The back end is more rigid than my Wilier CentoUno SR, so it's a tad less comfortable, but it's only a small difference. The internal cabling is great, and though others have mentioned a problem with the seat post not staying put, I've not had any problems with this. Just make sure you use the gritty paste for carbon seat posts.
Many thanks to Merlin for excellent support and delivery bang on time . The Merckx frame was better than I'd hoped for and fully built descends like a demon , holds speed superbly on the flat and even makes me seem like a half decent climber! The only niggle being the seat post - plenty carbon assembly paste saves it from being a dropper post ! At the price it's stunning
Thank you very much
Great looking frame the pictures don`t pay it justice. Still building the bike up at the moment but I`m sure it`s going to be awesome! I don`t know anyone else with a Merckx bike so being a little different is a bonus
Really good frame, not the lightest but as stiff as it gets and the handling is top notch. With the right pair of wheels and a suiting build kit it can handle about anything you throw at it.
Absolutely beautiful frame. Came with headset which was a nice bonus and fittings to cover cable entry points if going Di2. Far nicer than expected which means it's now going to cost me a small fortune giving it the components it deserves!
Good stiffness. Good handling.
Absolutely beautiful frameset, superlight, nice details, stiff as rock at a very affordable price for a pro frameset! A little minus due to lack of assembly instructions, but a visit to the local bikeshop solved those few problems.
