Ernest Since switching over to Fabric handlebar tape from another high end vendor, i have been totally satisfied. The bar tape is highly durable and last much loner than other brands. I've even gone to riding without any gloves as the tape dampens a lot of the shock from the bike.
Roland Easy to fit, cushioned and comfortable. Looks good but wears relatively quickly as the thin coloured layer detaches from the core tape.
Mid-Sussex Cyclist Fabric Hex tape is relatively easy to put on the bars. It is stretchy, flexible and well padded with a gel strip running through the middle of the tape. The bar end plugs are clamped into place so no chance of them ever dropping out on bumpy roads.
The only 2 downsides are if you need a short strip of tape to cover the shifter clamp (like I do) then that is not provided and will need to be cut from the main roll. Not a major issue as there is enough tape to cover a 44cm bar.
Also, once the tape is applied and left in place for a week or two, you cannot unroll it easily if you need to adjust it. The gel sticks so you need to get it right first time.
Finally, the hex pattern looks really good and the texture provides grip when wet.
Recommended - this is my go-to tape.
