Fizik Cyrano R1 Carbon Road Handlebars
The Cyrano R1 is the mid-range handlebar from fi’zi:k.  Made from uni-directional carbon, this is both strong and lightweight.

Just as your choice of fi’zi:k Spine Concept™ saddle shape is guided by your degree of spinal flexibility and subsequent pelvic rotation, fi’zi:k offers this same Spine Concept™ guideline to help you choose your most comfortable road handlebar shape. These products are being ridden at UCI World Tour level by AG2R Pro Cycling Team.

Your shoulders’ width should determine your handlebar width.  Choose from the following centre-centre measurements: 400/420/440/460mm.  Fi’zi:k handlebars widths are measured centre-to-centre ‘on the tops’ (behind where the STIs are attached to the bar).  They are NOT measured centre-to-centre ‘on the drops’ (between the centre of each bar plug).

The Snake Handlebar: If you are very spinally flexible (far less than 90 degrees between your straight legs and your back when bending over as far as you can, keeping your legs straight a shoulders’ width apart), you are a Snake.  You are better able to reach further and get down lower to use the full radius of more rounded, classic-style, deeper-drop handlebars. You will prefer the Snake Handlebar because it has a longer reach (85mm) and deeper, classic-style drop (140mm).

The Chameleon Handlebar: If you have an intermediate degree of spinal flexibility (approximately 90 degrees between your straight legs and your back when bending over as far as you can, keeping your legs straight a shoulders’ width apart), you are a chameleon.  You are better able to reach further, but perhaps you can’t get down quite as low on the handlebar drops as a Snake would be able to. You will prefer the Chameleon Handlebar because it has a longer reach (85mm) but a shallower, more ergonomic-style drop (135mm).

The Bull Handlebar: If you have a relatively low degree of spinal flexibility (more than 90 degrees between your straight legs and back when bending over as far as you can, keeping your legs straight a shoulders’ width apart), you are a Bull.  You will not be able to reach as far or bend as low as a Snake or a Chameleon would be able to. You will prefer the Bull Handlebar because it has a shorter reach (80mm) and a shallower, more ergonomic-style handlebar drop (130mm).

Przemek Excellent quality handlebar. I picked Snake version which is very comfortable for me and has a beautiful classic bend
James These are designed for people with a more flexible spine, based off the fizik spine concept, and as such being the snake model, the drop on them is larger than others. So might not suit others who are looking for a shallow drop. In terms of performance, I have liked the feel, comfortable, nice road buzz killing compliance, making for a relaxed and easy grip. But should you need to sprint, no discernible flex in them. So I am happy with them to date!!
Mr NuclCycl Lightweight, well made handlebar. Nice looking and very comfortable.
Mr toda This handlebar is very light. The finish is also beautiful, there is a high class feeling. Wonderful, good to buy.
GrumpyOldPizza Cannot say yet too much about this one. Picked it for a new cockpit over FSK K-Force. Latter one is nice but did not seem to give me enough drop and reach. Fizik's Cyrano line has 3 different models with 3 different drops/reaches. So a few options to play with.
Shayne Perfect. Bit of extra bar length on the drops for bigger hands. Not flexy but not harsh. I like that there are NO cables holes! Combined with R1 stem and Fizik bar tape, looks great.
