Fizik X5 Artica Mountain Bike Shoes
Artica X5 is the perfect winter MTB cycling shoe for warmth, comfort, protection and performance riding in even the coldest, wettest conditions off-road. Fully waterproof with advanced insulation properties, trail protection and robust grip. Artica X5 beats the element yet is a tough, lightweight performance shoe.
The Artica R5’s Internal Speed Lacing system makes fitting to your foot shape quick and accurate. It’s microtex reinforced shell offers structured support while the seamless bonding on the outer provides low-profile impact protection and the Breathable Membrane maximises airflow. The waterproof outer is easy to clean and the waterproof zip ensures that even the worst weather stays out.
The carbon reinforced nylon outsole is tough, light and stiff for trail for trail protection, support and power transfer. This is combined with cosy fleece upper and an insulating aluminium foil underside, for all season warmth. Rubber treads mean you’ll always keep your grip on any surface.

Mr Huband Purchased in advance of the coming inclement weather to combat my perennially cold feet. Fit is snug and cosseting on a shakedown ride, final opinion will be made if my feet stay toasty. Product quality and finish seems excellent.
Mr Prior Bought these to replace a pair of Northwave celsius winter boots which had given me 5 years worth of warm feet. I've worn the Fiziks twice now since the purchase in wet and muddy conditions , no cold weather yet. But I can say they are extremely comfortable totally waterproof and very well made. I'm a size 10 shoe and I went with a 11 because I'm usually wearing thicker socks with a winter shoe and they fit like a glove , with room in the toe box to move your toes around. At present I would highly recommend these shoes.
Mr kraszewski amazing.... little toasters on your feet. sounds bad but can't wait for bad/cold weather. 45's fit perfect for UK size 10.5 with medium thick socks.
Mr Paul Smith I bought these boots for the 2020/21. Hence haven't used them yet. I went up a size to a 42 to accommodate thicker socks. The quality looks very good and you can add studs to the sole. shoes ordered on the Tuesday and arrived the next day. Always a pleasure ordering with Merlin.

Owen These boots are comfortable, warm and dry. The soles are quite stiff for good power transfer. The ankle cuffs are a little stiff and close fitting but I think this is necessity to prevent water ingress.
Andre These boots are very comfortable, warm enough, waterproof enough and rigid enough to be great for enduro. I haven't had them for a long time but having used them a few times they seem durable enough too.
