Have been using these bibs for a full winter now. Definitely good value for money. Some stitches already loosened in the first month of use.
These bibtights are excellent quality. The pad is excellent, the zip to assist with 'comfort breaks' is very well placed making this task easier than any other bibtight I have owned. I am used to windblock panels on bibtights and was concerned that these wouldn't be warm enough as they don't have them, I needn't have worried the fabric has good thermal properties keeping me warm in conditions averaging 4deg C.
I am 5ft 11ins and around 75 kilos and the large size fits very well. At this price they are a steal - buy 'em!
Excellent - good fit and quality - warm but not too thick
The Funkier Winter Thermal Bib tight is made of high quality. I must say order 1 size bigger because next time I do. My normal size is Large so next time I order XL
I think these are excellent value. In my experience, cheaper shorts or tights often come with a poor quality pad, but I find these very comfortable. I liked them so much bought a second pair.
I haven't had them long enough to comment on the durability of the stitching or the zips, but at this price, they're a steal.
These bib tights cover more torso than other bib tights I have had, but the zip makes them easy to put on and take off. The material is not too thick and I would wear something more substantial if going out in freezing conditions (not that I do!). On the sizing I am about 6' and 75kg and I ordered the large which fit just about perfect.

Been out in cold rain and icy weather kept legs and top part of body warm, for the price great bit of clothing.
Great product - 2nd pair I have owned over a 3-year period. I have not owned another brand but liked these that much, I did not want to risk the change, even for a more expensive brand. Fit - I bought 1-size up, I am a medium 5'9 and a Large is my preferred fit. Comfort - they are comfortable and warm. I use them during autumn and winter for both daily commute and longer rides (50+ miles). Wet weather - they are not waterproof but dry quick
would I buy again - yes. I have used Merlin for a few years and as always give great service on discount, with sharp deliveries and no fuss return/exchanges.
Seem to be well made and they have an excellent padded insert - firm but comfortable.
I was a bit concerned about how warm they would be when I first looked at them as the material seems to be a bit thin, but they do provide very good cold insulation.
Size wise, I'm 36" waist and 44" chest so went for the XL but they are a bit snug - the material stretches well so no real problem. However, if you are of a larger stature I would advise going for one size above what is recommended.
Bought these for winter riding and they are built for purpose. As with most bib-tights I buy the legs are slightly too long but this doesn't affect the quality of the product - I must have shorter legs than everyone else. I like the long zip as it helps to keep the winter winds out...
For the price I can't fault these. Wanted a cheap set of winter bib tights as the 3/4 length shorts were a bit nippy when out in the peaks and on the morning commute.
I was surprised at how well the thin material kept me warm. The pad is only ok, it's a bit thick for my tastes but this is obviously a personal thing.
A note on sizing. I'm 6'5" and went for the XL based on the sizing guide. Whilst it does fit if I were to buy again I'd go for the XXL.
These are my first bib tights and I found them very comfortable. I'm 187cm and 90kg and went for size XL. It's almost tailored fit. You'll need a base layer if you'll wear them below 7-8C.
I put those to the test last Sunday: temperatures around 5C, light wind and plenty of very liquid mud on the trails. They fit very nicely: I'm 1.82m (5.10') and 82kg (180lbs) and the size L is perfect. They're also quite comfy: no seams come in the way and I forgot I was wearing them after a few minutes.
They kept me warm during the entire ride. My bum wasn't too sore after 3 hours on the saddle. If you go out when it's dark outside, you'll appreciate the strips of reflective material on each leg.
All in all, it's fantastic value for the money.
Excellent quality and comfort - far better than my Endura ones which were twice the price !
For the price these are really good quality winter bib shorts. The padded insert is really comfortable and the zip/reflective strip at the back of the ankle section is a nice touch. They are also really warm. I bought medium (I'm slim and about 5ft10 high) and they are a little on the tight side - would have preferred to buy a large, but not enough in it for me to return them.
Very good service as usual from Merlin -They came the day after I ordered them.
These are great. Really warm and feel like good quality. I'm 6 foot 4 with 34 inside leg and 44 chest. I found the XL to be spot on.
Thermal.....just about!! Nice and comfy. Fit was good (L) - 5'9" and stocky. Padding all in the right place for a few hours in the saddle. Not as warm as I'd hoped but still better than standard Lycra. For the price a bargain.
Very good, worn them when cold and kept me warm, when the weather was warmer I didn't overheat.
Great product, nice attention to detail for example the small windproof flaps which protect the ankle zips. Comfortable, warm, do the job a treat!
A quality, well made product. Keeps my legs warm and pad is just right. I am 5ft 9 in and I went for a size large as I already have a pair of the shorts in that size and they fit me just right as I have chunky legs and a big backside :) I am no racing snake. Prefer these to my Enduras and would definitley buy a Funkier product again. Merlin price best on the net too!
I have a number of Funkier items, great products and well priced. You do need to go up a size but they are well cut to a U.k sizing. These are great quality, warm and a good pad, not as good as the summer bib shorts pad, but they suit the item and the riding time in the saddle you spend during winter etc. Merlin prices make these a great buy and should be near the top of your list for quality, affordable cycling clothing.
Great value for money. Not as thick as some roubaix tights, so they're good for cold days, but not very cold days. I wonder how long the zips on the heels will last when I keep forgetting to undo them, but I would certainly buy these again.
6ft 1inch (184 cm) and 82kg (13 st) XL was a little tight for my taste. Smaller fit than the Lusso Super Roubaix Bib Tights. Quality good. Stripes a little gaudy.
Very nicely made well fitting and warm. But have to breathe in a bit to pull front zip up. Once zipped up really comfortable. Would recommend.
These are well worth the price, in fact I would go to say that at this price don't buy any other make. They are warm, got a good thick pad and fit well. I bought large and I'm 5ft 8" and they fit me quite well even being I have a 30" inside leg. Very pleased.
Since the cold weather started to descend on us I really needed to replace my ageing and thin bib tights - I bought three pairs (different makes) and was amazed at the difference - some makes were thin enough to let wind through (not these ones) despite describing themselves as thermal - these however are great - really thick material that keeps you warm out of the door, and then doesnt make you feel like youre overheating.
My one complaint is that there arent many reflective bits - these would be perfect if they had at least some reflective patches for the evening commutes
Would def buy another pair soon
These bib tights fit perfectly and are v comfortable in the right place! I am 6'4'' and 85 kg and ordered the XL. A safety flurescent strip on the rear calf is great. The price was good and as always Merlin delivered wthin 2 days. An excellent service at a great price. I will continue to buy from and reccomend others to Merlin
Great price and great performance. Am 6' 6" with 34" waist so went for XL and they fit a treat.
Having used the bib shorts and finding them a good fit an superb quality it seemed a good idea to try the winter bib tights now that winter is approaching. Was not disappointed the fit and finish are superb and they keep your legs and lower back nice and warm. Would recommend.
Excellent fit, although you need to be careful with the zip in not bringing it to far down.
Great value and excellent service as usual.
Fantastic fit and quality, kept my legs nice and warm on recent 50 mile ride. Nice for a company to make cycle clothing for us larger people who dont quite fit the italian clothing companies size chart. And yet again first class service from Merlin.
Very comfortable and warm material, ideal for winter rides. Got a half decent chamious that is useable for 3-4 hour rides without any issues. I'm 6'2 34" waist XL was the perfect size for me. Highly recommended!
These are fab. I've two sets and been using them for all my MTB'ing since September. Very comfortable for extended rides and most importantly keep you warm when you need it. The sizing is not generous so you may need to bump up a size or two.
Good fit, really look the part. Just high enough up the chest but good zip length for comfort stops.Warm in the legs on cold days and all this at the right price.
Great item perfect fit, glad I used Merlin again,
Another great product from Funkier - these are the first 'tight's' I've ever owned, so I can't compare them to others. But, they fit very well (I'm 5ft11, and very slim. I went for XS), are well made, and kept me warm this week (frosty mornings)
Love them the do exactly what they say. Good quality, well made
