AlistairF I find it difficult to buy shoes because of my wide feet. So with some hesitation and lots of research I opted for size 46 and they fitted my size 11s perfectly. And amazingly more comfortable than my departing well worn in Shimano shoes! Perfect!
Mr Van Deventer I used these shoes for the first time on a 50 mile ride - I was dreading what the experience was going to be like. I couldn't believe how comfortable they were!! It was like I had been using them for years already.
Muhammad Salama Great quality, comfortable fit and very light
Mr santos Very comfort shoes. True to size. BOA sistem is great for easy for put and quit shoes.
Steve Adams Ordered a second pair from Merlin as I was very happy with the first pair that I bought. They are very comfortable shoes - I'm normally UK shoes size 7.5 with narow feet so the size 8 (EU 42) were perfect for me . I use these for a road bike as I understand that SPD MTB cleats are easier to clip in & out of and are also more convenient for walking off the bike. I've only recently started using cleats which I use with Boardman Hybrid TEAM Pedals, so this combination works very well for me. Would definatley recommend!
Mr McCrae Shoes arrived this morning and I put my cleats on them and went for a ride. The prevailing advice seems to be to order a size up. I had bought GIRO road shoes a few years ago and ordered size 44, my normal size, they pinched a bit and I hoped that they would become more comfortable through use, they didn’t! This time I ordered a size up (45) and sure enough they were a comfortable fit for me. The BOA tightening system is quick to use and ensures a snug fit. I bought the black and dark red and they look great. I am very happy with these shoes.
Michael These look good, feel comfortable and are easy to put on and adjust using the BOA system. As usual, Merlin exceed expectations on stock levels, price and customer service.
Mr kraszewski Red/black looks great, 45 fit perfect for UK size 10.5 with cycling socks. BOA lacing system give great control on tightness unlike ratchet systems.
Mr Wilson Really happy with these shoes would highly recommend.
Mr Tims These seem to be pretty good so far, but I do get a bit of numbness after about 2 hours of riding.
neil I’m very pleased with these. My first mtb shoes with boa fastening. It works well. The shoes are very comfortable and the blue and black ones look good. As usual, fast service from Merlin Cycles.
Mr Ruchaevski The sole of this shoe is not as stiff as some other XC shoes. Shoes are really light weight and look good. I hope boa and the shoe itself will last under sometimes heavy loads.
Matthew Sizing was perfect. The shoes are typical Giro top quality. Love the boa lacing system. Super Efficient and fast to get in and out of the shoes.
Wishtue The sizing was spot on. Shoe felt comfortable and sturdy. Considering the price, I would recommend this. As always, great service from merlincycles
John This is the second pair I have bought. I stopped wearing road shoes as mtb and road soles are all rigid now. I use crank bros 3 on all bikes. The kinetic transfer to the cranks is same as the big awkward road pedal. These shoes are just so so comfortable and best fitting I have ever worn great retention system and good quality. I cannot reccomend them enough.
Mr Monkman True to size, going from mostly carbon road shoes these bad boys are like slippers! And the cheapest on the web :)
Mr Glowacki Great shoes. Ideally fit into small foot. The same size as for another shoes. Boa works super. Sole looks reliable, will see within a few months
Lukas When checking for size it's best to go with insole length in mm - according to this my size for Giro is 46, when I know I'm 45 everywhere else. Nice shoes, airy and reasonably stiff. Great for commuting.
Mr Piątkowski They are stiff, BOA works great, size chart looks like a Shimano's one
Mr Stoneman Excellent shoes. Very comfy. Good adjustment and solid feel/transfer of power. I'm using them on the road and mtb and they are great. I did read other reviews stating to go one size up which I did and can just about get away with it but to be honest I'm not sure you need to do may be worth checking.
Mr Davies AUS Ironically, these turned up at the exact moment I got home from a ride where I managed to split my old Shimano shoes in half. Arrived exactly when Merlin said they would! Few rides in and they are performing well. Comfortable and good power to pedal exchange. Sizing wise, I had to go for one size higher than normal as I was warned that they are a little on the narrow side. 48s fit my normally UK size 11.5 feet perfectly, but I do have wide G fitting feet. No Cleats in the box but luckily, I have loads of spares. Price was excellent. Have used Merlin a lot over the years and have always had good service and products.
Mr Fastman Fit and finish is ideal. The shoes fit as sized, a bit snug, but not enough to jump down a size. Cleat installation was a breeze. I am running these on a single speed/fixed gear set up to MASH. the soles are stiff enough for hill climbing and the engagement with my Crank Brothers Candy 2's is perfection. I will update after a couple hundred miles with longer term riding data.
Mr Ozturk Great shoes, the insoles could be better, but really great after I installed the good Giro insoles. Thanks Merlin!
MP These MTB shoes fit just as great as another pair of road Giros I have. Super comfortable, efficient because of stiff sole. BOA works great. The only concern I have is about how BOA survives minor crashes given its position on the side of the shoes - time will tell.
MattD Typical Giro quality and fit. If you've never worn Giro shoes before it might pay to check some out in person or have a look at the high volume options if you often have to size up shoes. These have been perfect so far, can't beat these features and quality at this price
