Giro Factor Techlace Road Shoes

The Giro Factor Techlace™ is a race-bred, super-stiff and lightweight cycling shoe weighing just 210 grams and featuring an Easton® EC90 SLX2 carbon fiber outsole, which is among the lightest, thinnest and stiffest pedaling platforms on the road, giving you a direct connection to the pedals and significantly bolstering power transfer. The Factor Techlace road shoe upper is made from durable, highly-breathable Evofibre SL which is soft and moulds around the form of your foot when secured with Giro’s brilliant Techlace system coupled with a proven Boa dial. Recognised by cyclists around the world as one of the most adjustable, user-friendly closure systems available the Techlace provides a supple feel across the forefoot helping to avoid any pressure points while the Boa IP1 dial offers fast, intuitive adjustment in 1mm increments when tightening or loosening. To further enhance rider comfort Giro have included a SuperNatural Fit footbed featuring an adjustable arch support for the ultimate in fine-tuned, personalised fit.

Mr beall As long as you know your actual shoe size (US sizing) these are the perfect size. I followed the guidance in the reviews and went up a size. Now they are a bit bigger than I like. Should have ordered the correct size. Oh well. These do not breathe very well so do not use in high temperature. They are very light and stiff. Solid shoes.
Mick W My 3rd pair of Giro shoes, having previously purchased both the Giro Empire SLX and also the Giro Sentry Techlace and these are every bit as comfortable as the other two pairs. Sizing is consistent with the others, I generally opt for a 42 and in UK sizes I would generally hover between a 7.5 or an 8 if i am wanting to wear slightly thicker socks, a reasonably wide foot that doesn't feel squeezed in the Giro shoes unlike my Sidi's. A solid sole on these, I fancy myself as a bit of a sprinter, not in Sagan's league but more than capable of getting into 4 figure watts and there is zero flex in the sole with the uppers holding the foot in position well too. Finish is to be expected of Giro shoes, quality. Service from Merlin as always, faultless.
Brett Nice blackout look. A little tight to break in but fit as specified in size chart. Straps and boa secure.
Mr Chirkov Very light, with a hard sole. Several a narrow pad, recommend take on the size of the more than usually
Wex Great shoe, super comfortable and light. Fit with lace strap feels good. Looks liek a lace up, but is really a modern closure system. I'm a 46 in likes of Fizik but needed a 47 in these.
Jan Great fit around the feet due to the techlaces and easy adjustable. Stiff sole and great power transfer
Jani Shoe is more elegant in nature than it looks in the pictures. The shoe is very light and comfortable to wear when you put your insoles right! I also like the cleat setting on the bottom of the shoe. Overall, very good road shoe.
James Easily adjustable and comfy to wear. Lightweight with a solid stiff sole that greatly improves power transfer.
Mr Clare Great road shoe, pro level at a great price, you would be mad not to buy at this price!
Mr HWANG It is a shoe with excellent performance and comfort. Very satisfied.
Ms Mathison A great top end performance shoe that's very comfortable. The Techlace offers everything fully laced Empire shoes can achieve in terms of fit but also offers on-the-fly adjustment. Slightly wider round the toes than my Sidi Wire.
rob Great service from Merlin. Had 3 different sizes of the Techlace shoes, sent 2 back, refunded quickly. As for sizing im a 44 in Northwave, went for a 45 in the Giro Techlace, as I wanted extra room in the toe box going forward for more comfort. I would say for a straight match, a 44 Northwave would equal a 44.5 in the Giro Techlace.
