The Kinesis Racelight Aithein EVO is a British designed and tested racing machine developed for fast-paced riding and racing, whether you’re looking to dominate your local crit, win the sprint for the sign on your weekly chain gang or simply want to increase your average speed on your favourite hilly loop the Aithein EVO is a bike that wants to be ridden at pace.
Evolved from the previous Racelight Aithein the Aithein EVO frame has several changes to improve the ride quality including a new downtube that features internal cable routing for both cable or Di2 gearing, a slightly slackened head tube and increased tyre-clearance to cater for up to 28mm wide tyres. Made from Kinesium this enhanced 6000 series Aluminium alloy is 25% stronger than 6061 at the same weight level; the Kinesis engineers have focused on the seat tube too, developing a Super-plastic Formed ‘Anti-Gravity’ seat tube – a modern version of ‘Hydroforming’ using far higher temperatures to produce complicated shapes in thinner wall tubing. The result is lighter weight tubing that can be formed to make the frame perform exactly as required adding core stability to the frame and allowing them to lighten the other main tubes of the frame. Other key features include a user-friendly BSA threaded bottom bracket and a lightweight 330g carbon monocoque 1.5” tapered fork.
