Mavic Allroad Elite UST Disc Gravel Wheels - 2018
These purpose-built  wheelset is designed for reliable performance on rough roads and variable terrain. Lightweight, stiff and responsive, featuring many of the same technologies as the more expensive Allroad Pro Disc model, including Mavic's new UST Road Tubeless technology.
The Super-wide 22mm internal rims deliver a smooth ride even on rugged roads and dirt With Yksion Elite Allroad UST tubeless tyres. Mavic's proven UST system lets you run lower tyre pressure to improve comfort and handling with no risk of pinch flats. I bought these wheels to replace the stock wheels on my Trek 720. The Trek wheels creaked a lot and did not seem to hold up well. I was looking for something that would be good for touring on gravel bike baths and dirt roads. The wheels seem to work well but the 700x40c tires were too wide for my bike and the rear tire hit my front derailleur. I have replaced the fron tire with my old 32c tube tire and installed a Yksion Elite Allroad 700x30c on the front wheel. I might switch to tubless for both soon. The 30c tire is a great aerodynamic fit to the rim. The 40c tires seemed easily twice as large and bulged out over the side of the rim. The seal between the tires and rims is not good enough to run without sealant. Without sealant the tires held air for no more than 20 minutes. Wheels came with quick release adapters for the front wheels (they were labeled for the rear wheels) but not for the rear wheel. The local bike shop found an adapter but they said it is often problematic getting the right adapters. So far the wheels are running great!!!
