  • Alison Dunlap designed the ADvantage as a high volume aggressive cross country tire that corners great on big side-knobs.
  • It also climbs and brakes with authority thanks to the opposing parallelogram center tread design.
  • Ramped center knobs keep rolling resistance minimal and the wide lug spacing sheds mud easily.
  • Opposing parallelogram with aggressive side knob

Grip, grip, grip and I just keep having fun with them. Bought them a few months ago and they are just great!
Excellent tyre for the Greek dry and hard Acropolis Rally like gravel. Fast rolling and quite supportive when cornering. After almost 700 klm in a very hot and dry environment they continue to be in good condition, with minimum worn at the top and zero damage at the sides. Puncture proof for sure!
Fantastic tyre, very grippy on forest floor loam, rocky Peaks or Lakes and trail centre trails. First choice for me would be the 2.25 in super tacky for front use or 62a for rear to give a longer life. If the 2.25 is too big (as it was for my hardtail) the 2.1 is still very good, just don't run it too soft.
A brilliant rear trail tyre, lots of volume and rolls extremely well. Keenly priced and with the excellent Merlin service too, I'll be back when I need a new one
I bought these tyres because I was looking for an 'all-rounder' for the MaXx Exposure event on the South Downs Way and the Avantage tread pattern is pretty good at most things. I got the standard model over the eXCeption compound because I thought these would be harder wearing over South Douth Downs flints. So far the tread and sidewalls are intact. The tyres went tubeless onto Stans Crest quite easily and sealed almost straight away. I had to add 3 layers of electrical tape to make the bead tight, but they then inflated with a trackpump. The volume of these tyres is 'new' Maxxis sizing, so they are the same size as the Aspen and bigger than Crossmark and Ignitor. It is slightly bigger (1mm) than a Schwalbe Nobby Nic 2.1 on the same rim. I can run them tubeless at 24 and 29 PSI front and rear.
Great all round tyre. Grips well on all surfaces from wet roots and rocks to loose gravel. Only really loses traction in really deep mud, which to be fair is true of all non mud specific tyres. Big casing so handles low pressures with no problem and surprisingly quick rolling. Only downside is quite high price but worth the money so far.
