This medium sized ex-demo road bike has been used for a UK Magazine review & photoshoot and is in excellent condition. The fork steerer tube has not been cut down, however this bike’s carbon frame features an integrated seat tube and has been sized according to the magazine’s specification so please be aware that the maximum distance between the bottom bracket and the top of the saddle is now 73.5cm
The Merlin Cordite SL is our versatile, lightweight carbon road bike with a rich racing heritage. Built for us exclusively by Ridley in Belgium this efficient all-rounder is based on their excellent Helium ISP (Integrated Seatpost) Frameset which has previously proved itself in some of the most demanding pro cycling races in the world.
The Merlin Cordite SL mixes rider-friendly geometry putting you in a neutral position suited to long hours in the saddle. An ISP (Integrated Seatpost) keeps frame weight to a minimum while helping enhance the transfer of pedalling power through the bike when seated; road buzz from rough road surfaces is decreased thanks to cleverly engineered seatstays featuring a flattened profile that gives a little extra compliancy. Up front a full-carbon fork does the same job, with a profile that further isolates vibration from the road surface. The Cordite SL can be successfully raced on the road; as well as being light and compliant it’s responsive too, accelerating well thanks to its large downtube and bottom bracket junction as well as super-stiff chain stays, making it very responsive to pedalling input allowing you to accelerate and hold your speed during fast-paced races.
The Cordite SL features Shimano's excellent Ultegra R8000 11 speed groupset which includes a new Shadow Technology rear derailleur which gives a lower, more aero profile and increased protection from crash damage. We’ve specced a user-friendly low-ratio Shimano RS510 chainset featuring 34/50T chainrings combined with an 11/28T Shimano 105 cassette to give you a versatile range of gears capable of taking on the steepest hills and the fastest sprint finishes. Ridley’s own Forza Stratos handle bars and stem finishes off the bike perfectly along with the RC31 wheels to help you to tackle any mountain pass or back road you decide to venture down.
