Merlin RA-1 Clincher Road Wheelset - 700c
The Merlin RA-1 Wheelset is an ideal entry level replacement / general riding wheelset. They feature reliable cup and cone bearings and tough, 25mm deep / 21mm wide aluminium rims, laced with 32 spokes. These are the perfect, reliable wheels for training, commuting or that weekly sunday ride.

Dr Barnett Solid set of wheels and reasonable price, on the heavy side but ok for commuting or "training wheels". No idea why merlin do not provide the spacer if using a cassette of less than 11 speed.

Greg Woolley Purchased as i needed a new budget set of winter training wheels. Have ridden on them a few times now and they seem solid and smooth. They do not feel like a budget wheelset. The breaking surface is really good and grippy (even with my worn pads) and I suspect these wheels will last a good few winters on the harsh North Wales coast with occasional re greasing of the cup and cone bearings.
