Fantastic quality for money. Good quality generally and really excellent pad. Ankle zips are robust and long enough to make it easy to put these on over thick socks. Sizing is Italian (bit tight)
The most comfortable bib and brace tights that I have ever worn. Great value.
Wore these for the first time today. Great fit and warm and cozy. The pad was very comfortable. im very pleased with them and the price.
An overwhelmingly good fit and very comfortable to wear. Having tried several different brands these are by far some of the best I've tried.
The quality is superb and especially the zippers at the end of the legs feel like they would last forever. I actually considering to sell my other cycling clothes and buy more of Merlin's own brand - that's how well made they are.
Good product! Value for money with no boubts! The pad is really acceptable! Perfect for Automn rides, not sure for cold winter rides...
Very impressed with the quality, great value for money. Comfy and warm tights will buy again
I bought these to replace the Castelli Nanoflex bib tights that were worn out. After reading the Road.cc reviews I thought they would be good value for money and I'm certainly not disappointed. I'm impressed how comfortable they are even after a few washes and they will keep you warm in temperatures as low as 4 or 5c. I just wish there was a water resistant deep winter version.
Excellent bib tights; comfortable, warm and very good fit. I'm 188cm/85kg and the Large is perfect.
Really impressed. Not sure what to expect for the price paid but they're comfortable, well made and warm. The product review on road.cc was the reason I choose this model and the consistent reviews on this product are true.
You can be sure these bibs will serve you well.
Size Large fits nice and tight for 181cm/80kg rider. The cut is rather sporty for muscular legs and upper body. Zippers in the ankles are a nice touch, otherwise would be painful to get your calves through. Very comfortable material and quality chamois. I would consider these for 5 to -5 deg celsius temperature, below that you probably need windstopper of some kind. Unbeatable price, would recommend these to anyone!
Great tights. Why pay any more!
Comfy, warm, ergonomic and cheap.
Spring is here and I will be putting these in the drawer till next year. I am going to miss them. They are everything I wanted in a set of winter tights. Warm, but don`t get overly hot if the temp gets over 10degC. Comfy, nice fleecy lining that is smooth on the skin. Zippered ankles, to make getting in and out easy.
Overall the finish is very high quality, same as the Merlin shorts I have. If these have a fault it is the chamois. I have top of the range and the chamois in these is not that. Is it a reason to not buy them? Definitely not. Let me elaborate. Its a mono foam and quite large and dense. Off the bike it feels like you have a pillow stuffed down ya pants. On the bike you dont feel it and you soon forget about the pillow. You actually forget you are wearing them at all. No complaints. It literally feels like you are sitting on a pillow, but yet it doesnt stop you maneuvering on the saddle. No discomfort after 4 & 6 hour rides. I have no doubt that it will be the same on longer rides.
Fit is as it should be. Sport fit tells me it is closer to relaxed rather than race fit. I am 184cm, 80kg, W81cm and a medium is perfect.
I have been pleased with all my Merlin wear and these were no exception. Part of that is due to the price. They are very cheap, but at the same time the quality is not lacking. So what about style? I like the understated style that these have. I can see myself having a complete fit out of Merlin wear.
Great, cost effective tights. Nice warm fabric
A superb product at an excellent price. Have worn them to commute to Manchester and workout in the cold and windy Lancashire hills - they've been plenty comfortable and warm enough in 3-5 degrees with a great pad. I've got Gore shorts that cost twice as much and the pad in these feels more comfortable although that could be because they are new. At 6ft 2' the XL fits me perfectly as well. Brilliant quality and value - very pleased with these cheers H
These are one of my best bits of cycling clothing I've purchased. I've got stacks and stacks and am very fussy. I have the merlin elite and merlin sport bib shorts also. These are same pad as the sport shorts (which I prefer to the elite). Very comfortable, perfect in cold temps, soft and very flexible, great fit. Love them!
Ordered size Large. Quality is excellent. Pad looks pretty wide and thick but I compared to pearl izumi select shorts and it's the same size. Have not ridden them yet.
Sizing: I am 5'10", 160 lbs, 33/34" waist, 40" chest, inseam 32-3/4". I lean more to the performance side so I wanted a good snug fit. With my measurements, size guide says Med for height, and between Med and Large for waist. Large fits great. Not at all too long, nice and tight. I think a medium would be too tight but maybe maybe a better fit in the crotch? Anyway I say size up.
Very impressed so far. Well made, very comfortable and just what I need for autumn/winter rides of 3-4 hours.
Fits as expected and quality is nice. I'm fairly normal build and measure 77.5 waist 174.5 height. Small fits well.
Great value! I'm 6' with a 36" waist and the XL fitted fine with plenty of length in the leg.
Excellent product at good price. Just go up a size from normal. Very quick delivery time
Good fit and very comfortable wear, has the ability to resist wind and cold conditions.
Very warm and comfortable on the legs. The pad causes a bit of discomfort for long rides but it might just be me.
Length is a little bit long, but I am relatively short AND have short legs, so that is to be expected. Quality is comparable to tights that cost twice as much. Interior roubaix fabric is very soft and comfortable
These bib tights from Merlins own label are as good if not better than tights costing two to three times as much. They are warm, comfortable to wear and quick drying on the one occasion that I got well and truly soaked. I aready had a pair of Merlins bib shorts and they are great so hoped the tights would be too, only they are better!!!!
Very pleased with this bib. Extremely warm yet breathable once your body gets going. Great fit and quality.
Very well made bibs. I wore them today in -4 degrees and it was very good, a bit chilly maybe. Pad is thick and comfy. Got along fine with my chinese carbon saddle . Recommended.
These are great. They are well made, comfortable and as good as tights that cost more than twice the price. I have Merlin bib shorts too and they are top quality as well. Recommended.
The first thing that struck me about these bib tights on taking them out of the bag was the fantastic feel of the Italian roubaix material - super soft with a high quality, almost matt, finish, with smart and discreet badging. This extends up the front half of the straps to join light, open mesh straps and back panel. The front is cut quite low for comfort breaks and the ankle zips are good quality with locking tabs. I'm 1.85m and 88kg and an XXL fitted me very well with plenty of leg length but perhaps just a touch tight in the body length, although this may be my body shape and didn't notice when riding. The bright orange Italian Super Dry pad covers a large area and, although much of that is very thin, there is some well shaped thicker padding in the middle. Having now done several 30-55 mile rides in these bibs I conclude that they are very good indeed and fantastic value for money. The pad is comfortable, does stay very dry and didn't cause me any issues and my legs were warm at temperatures down to 6 deg C. Below that I think knee warmers may be needed. I'd love to see a 'deep winter' version in Super Roubaix, with a better pad, higher zipped chest and stirrups instead of ankle zips - get to it Merlin, should be ready for next winter!
Really nice, fit tight...these don't have the Elastic interface pads like the elite bib shorts which are awesome so lets see how they go.
Really good I'm 6'1" and 30" waist and went for medium fit is nice and they are comfortable and look really good nicer than those costing much more. Highly recommended.
I have two pairs of Merlin Elite bib shorts and the Team jersey so didn't hesitate to buy these bibs for winter, knowing they would be top quality - I was not disappointed. I bought the same size as the bib shorts and they fit perfectly. For the price they wont be beaten.
As I have three pairs of the Merlin Wear bib shorts, I was waiting for winter to come around in the hope that these might arrive. And now they have, they do not disappoint. A good fit and comfy pad combine with excellent insulation to give a really warm pair of tights.
