Wow these are good. Done a few rides with these now in chilly November/December and although I haven't been out in any torrential rain there's been a lot of standing water and they've got pretty wet, but so far have kept my feet dry and surprisingly warm. The closure system of laces with a sliding lock thing, combined with the velcro covers and high ankle part keep the boots secure and the water out.
The soles are stiff and the cleat is recessed so you don't clip-clop about when you're off the bike and they're surprisingly lightweight given that I got the EU size 49. On the subject of sizing, I normally take a 11 or 12 and have wide feet and the 49 with a decent merino sock is snug and secure.
Basically, like any decent bike upgrade, when they're in use you don't think about them, they just work quietly in the background and do their job. Really pleased with this purchase.
Oh, and it goes without saying that Merlin despatched super quick and their customer service was as good as ever.
After putting buying winter boots off for years I can't believe I didn't do it sooner. They are unbelievably warm on a cold wet day. They are a narrow fit but I have narrow feet so they're ideal for me. Worth every penny
Great boots, dry warm feet.
I would highly recommend these.
I ordered the size that I usually have for shoes and they fit just right with enough room for a thick pair of socks.
If you ride in the winter buy them! I have had dry fit on every ride apart from one where I ended up walking through a river up to my knees..... the boot then worked like a wet suit, when I heated the water around my feet, they stayed warm for the the rest of my ride.
Very happy with the product but can`t wait for things to dry up and for the summer sun!
Wow, this is an amazing product. The first impression when you put it on, is a very comfortable and warm sensation. You feel the boot, perfectly adapted to your foot. No issues to move the foot and to give pedals.
I've ridden with temperatures between -2.3 celsius degrees and 12, and the results couldn't be better.
I'm very very satisfied and positively impressed with these boots. Now I can forget my old neoprene overboots.
I'm now protected against wind, rain and cold. I really think it's an essential equipment you should have if you like to ride duing the autumn & winter.
Really happy with these as they are excellent boots and do exactly what they are supposed to do, keep your feet warm. Lace is a little long but very easy to trim to required length. They are a little snug in size, recommend that you try them on first, especially if you like to use thicker socks. They seem to repel water well and I only wish I'd got some sooner rather than persisting with overshoes for so many years.
Really nice! Came quickly, fit perfectly and seem warm enough for early winter commuting and mountain biking.
Went for the frist ride with the boots. Fits very Well.
Keep feets warm and dry even in though conditions.
The best insulated and effective winter cycling shoe I have ever come across, and I have tried many. Along with heavy socks, my feet remain comfortable to 20 degrees F.
Comfy light weight and stiff, I am very pleased with these. Not tested in extreme wet yet but think they will be fine. Got my normal shoe size which fits well. I think I am going to be in these 3 out of 4 seasons.
Geat shoes, warm and waterproof. Perfect for the winter.
Great fit- I am 44 in Shimano so same for NW allowing for thick sock. No more need for shoe covers. Excellent water proof shoe and also really warm. Good sole, can really feel support.
This was first time I shopped with Merlin and service and price was excellent, delivery was spot on.
Extremely warm and dry, very comfortable. Use for winter commuting, but tempted to get the road equivalent (Farenheit) for winter training spins also.
Sized slightly bigger than Mavic, so bear in mind.
Very comfortable boots. Waterproof apart from when water runs down your legs!
Even when the water runs down the legs and your feet get wet, they still stay warm!
