The Northwave Raptor GTX are protective, versatile winter boots designed to keep your feet warm in the colder months. If you spend a lot of time riding in the winter when temperatures hover around zero degrees then these winter boots featuring a clever GoreTex Pique membrane will be a shrewd investment that help you enjoy your riding all year round.
With a waterproof barrier and great thermal insulation combined with the breathability required to stop your feet overheating when temperatures begin to climb the Raptor GTX boots are recommended for a temperature range of -3 to +15°C. With a stiff sole and the same excellent power transfer that’s shared with all other Northwave MTB shoes these winter boots also provide all the grip required off the bike during a winter ride with their aggressive tread pattern keeping you steady on your feet despite the terrain and conditions. Northwave have included a clever Climaflex collar made from Gore-Tex Rattler® membrane and highly insulating Neoprene to keep your foot fully enclosed from the elements - free from overlaps and Velcro, the Climaflex collar is designed to deliver unprecedented mobility for riders and make their winter boots feel like an extension of their legs.
• Super-stiff Jaws Carbon Reinforced sole with a natural rubber tread
• Water & windproof Gore-Tex® Pique membrane keeps your feet insulated even at -3°C
• Ultra-snug fitting upper construction
• Extra thermal coating on toe
• TPU reinforcements ensure 360° protection along the entire upper
• User-friendly SLW2 dial to adjust fit
• Climaflex collar made of extremely elastic Gore-Tex Rattler® membrane and insulating Neoprene
• Integrated heel system ensures efficient heel retention
• Special GTX footbed works in synergy with the membrane
• 360° reflective inserts
Mr StudingerI am very happy with the shoes. I have it for the past 3 weeks and using every day. I have EU 42-43 size wide foot and in this model the size EU44 fit well. The water leaks only from the ankle in heavy rain but it's normal and very minimal doesn't even feel while I am cycling. I have tried with 3.5mm neoprene overshoes in 0-2C degrees and my socks got soaked from sweat so it's warm enough without them. The ankle parts was quite tight to put on the shoe at first few times and the lining teared a little bit (I sewed it) and the heel lining is loosen in the left. Only I can feel when removing shoes. It is completely comfortable when cycling.
DuncanHave struggled with cold feet for a couple of seasons. Difficult to find winter MTB footwear in NZ. These are ok to about 5 degrees with decent merino socks. Could probably be a little better if there were two separate adjusters per boot to allow better fit tuning over front foot and ankle. Fits similar to Shimano.
Mr PaulSizing is great a generous. I'm a euro 48 and some shoes are a small 48. Warmth and comfortable. Not to heavy on and do not restrict movement. Highly recommend
Mr LeungFirst pair where a little tight fitting with my Sealskinz socks so I returned them for the next size up. They where resent to me immediately. Great service, price and customer care. Well done Merlin Cycles.
gerard hughesGreat value first of all. Very comfortable to wear and a good fit. Extremely warm, have only used them on a few cold mornings so far on my commute to work. Great to walk in also, without slipping etc. Extremely happy with the brand, have Northwave shoes for the last 11 years now without any problems.
Mr LinoGreat product! Shoes keep warm even with so much cold. Timely shipping. Merlin Cycles is a guarantee!
SimonGood boots, usually take a 10.5 but the 45 is a good fit and could probably wear thicker socks to combat my cold feet but all good about 100 cold miles in. Great service and fast delivery from merlin as always.
