Rotor Rvolver Disc Boost Rear Hub
The RVOLVER® hubs are a lightweight yet durable hub technology. The innovative patent-pending floating clutch system disengages the ring from the pawls when you stop pedaling, but instantly re-engages to deliver a responsive power transfer once you resume pedaling.
Employing Rotor's expertise in CNC aluminum manufacturing saved precious weight by connecting the ratchet ring to the hub’s shell without threaded parts. All components are CNC’d machined from ultralight 7075 aluminum with fewer steel parts and a simplified internal design for ease of assembly and maintenance. Designed for 2-X installation on both sides.

Adam C. I ordered these hubs to build up an XC race wheelset for my Orbea Oiz. What attracted me to them was the weight, price and uniqueness of them. They took about 10 days to arrive to my mailbox; a little longer than expected but not an unreasonable amount of time. The Trakpak service let me know when they had been delivered, and they were exactly what I ordered - a 28h boost front and 32h xD boost rear, packaged acceptably with no damage to the box or items from shipping. They weighed in at 111/241g f/r - close to their published weight. The machining on them is very nice - especially like the disc rotor mounts. I'll be lacing these to some Stan's Crest rims with Sapim CX-Ray spokes using a 2x pattern for both. The front has to use this pattern but the 32h rear can be either a 2x or 3x. Overall I'd say my shopping experience has been good - on par with other online retailers. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Merlin Cycles to a friend and I will definitely include them in my future online shopping searches.
Bill I bought this for the newly designed rear hub freehub. Lacing it up can be a bit tough at first (calculation of spokes was fun, but their customer service is excellent). Also found that the spoke holes were just a tad tight...though I don't know if I consider this to really be bad, as I don't want the spokes having too much "play" in the hub holes. Freehub design is excellent and is unlike any other that I've ridden (there are videos which show the inside workings if you are interested). Engagement is quick and the sound is not as loud as my previous Pro2Evos I was riding. On long downhill sections, it's smooth enough that it doesn't feel like there is any drag in the rear wheel at all. I've ridden this on half a dozen trails and a full day of downhill riding and it's been fantastic. Pairing it with some WTB Asym rims created a really stiff wheel. Love it
