Mr SimpsonGreat tyres! My first time with this brand and I'm not disappointed. They go onto the rim easily, roll smoothly, grip well and seem much faster than the Michelin Lithion 2s they replaced. They are not showing any cuts or nicks after a few hundred miles, unlike the Michelins which also gripped well but cut up badly.
Mr MoffetExcellent tyres. They are one of the few I have found you can pump up to 145PSI. They wear well too. I normally get 3500 miles on them.
Mr CaleyGreat to use as a summer training/all round tyre, a lot more durable than the ultremo!
Mr ShaliceI have only used these for 200 miles or so, yet already they seem to me to be on a par with the ultremos - and they have been fantastic in the past. I can't tell any difference with the rolling resistance - too early to say if the duranos win on longevity.
Mr SmithGreat value and performance. Rode nearly 1500miles without a single puncture! Including a London to Paris jaunt. Very impressed hence why I bought another set.
Mr WoodcockFirst off, as always a great service from Merlin. These were on offer for purchasing two tyres - great value. The tyres themselves, well, I have changed from the std Lugano tyres for these Duranos. Same size but these are a folding tyre so lighter, roughly 200g a pair. Grip wise, I feel that they inspire confidence to push the bike through tight bends, I've not used them in the rain yet - surprisingly for the British climate! I've blown them up to 120psi and this seems about right. Not had a puncture yet, I've covered around 150miles since fitting them and ridden on roads, tracks and pot holed back roads. I wouldn't expect any just yet, but they aren't showing any signs of wear or cutting from small sharp stones. All in a well recommended tyre.
Mr GerrardA true 23mm tyre with adequate puncture protection. Light, fast-ish and in 1000miles no flats. The rubber is cut and scarred in places showing that it has dealt with a normal amount of road debris, absorbed it, but still kept the tube intact and protected. I was so impressed I bought another set as direct replacements for when the originals eventually wear out. I even used them on the turbo trainer and they stood up well enough to the heat and friction with the only issue being making sure that the roller is tight enough against the tyre to prevent slipping/spinning as this causes the contact patch to overheat and start shedding rubber. At the price offered by Merlin I recommend the Durano S as a good all-round tyre.
Mr PollicottExcellent tyres. Fast, durable and reasonably light. I would highly recommend.
