Schwable Nobby Nic Tyre With The Toughend SnakeSkin Side Wall ( Tubeless ready )
- Allgrounder! Now in a class of its own. Because Schwalbe improved, `by evolution`, on their all around, beloved MTB, tyre test winner of many years!
- Phase shifted blocks. A variation in the interblock space has resulted in profile cluster, which very positively affects grip.
- U-Blocks. The centre blocks are non-directional. The tyre is fitted to the rear wheel in the same direction as the front wheel. So the U-blocks can act optimally against the cornering forces on both wheels.
- Cut resistance. The rubber tread compound migrates into the sidewalls. The shoulder area is thus better protected against cuts.
- Durability. Larger blocks increase the lifespan.
- Triple Nano-Compound. Naturally with their best rubber mixture for top performance grip and rolling resistance.
- Many detailed optimizations add up to a big difference: 15% less rolling resistance than the former Nobby Nic.
- 30g weight saving.
- With its unbelievable power the new Nobby Nic is the true Allgrounder!
- Size: 26"
- Evolution SnakeSkin folding tyre
- Pace Star Compound
- Weighs: 575g
- TL Ready model

PedroFantastic tyre. For both dry and wet terrain.
Mr HailwoodBought this tyre for the back to accompany a 2.35 hans damf up front. The combination works fantastic. As the drive tyre it rolls fast on road sections and has fantastic grip off road and even grips through thick mud. Merlins post service is lightning quick!
BlowersUsed the tyre twice now, fast rolling decent grip and no sign of any damage. Quick delivery from merlin as usual.
Mr DiggleSet this up as a rear tyre on tubeless for day out at Llandegla for est.Have to say given the wet and muddy conditions the tyre performed brilliantly. As a tubeless setup you don't get a better fit than Schwalbe. Unbeatable price and speedy delivery ensure I will be using Merlin Cycles again for sure.
Mr PriestleySo far so.Good. Great grip and performance. Look great too.
Mr FergusonGreat tyres....would recommend for wet / dry & muddy conditions. They have transformed my bike!!
Mr EvansGood tyre and good price. I bought the snakeskin version as I have found they are better when run tubeless - sidewalls less porous.
Mr RobertsA great tyre with the much needed snakeskin protection at the lowest price I could find. Great service
Mr CarrUsing tubeless on ZTR rims, sealed up a treat. Fast rolling, great traction (only ridden dry days so far). 2.4 front, with a 2.25 rear on my Nicolai Helius AM. Great tyres at a great pricebuying these here in NZ would have cost almost double!
Mr CommanderThese are some of the fastest rolling full knob tires available. I have recently got to the 2.25 from the 2.1 and am very pleased with the improved ride. The snakeskin sidewall seems to be holding up very well. For comparison I used to use UST tires because their casing was so much more durable. Even then I would tear through the sidewall treads. So far the snakeskins are not showing wear like that.
Mr AspinallFast delivery. Great grip in soft mud compared to my old tyres, however they weigh a little more as the side walls on my last tyres were very thin.
SidWent straight on tubeless no problem, Still need to see how they work in the mud but with all the rain that shouldn't be a problem
Mr BurtonUsing them tubeless, went on my xt rims with tyre levers. Not much effort required. Was able to get them pumped up with 160psi floor pump. Excellent traction in both dry and wet conditions, predictable slide when you do lose grip. Main thing for me is rolling resistance these tyres are quick! I may have finally found my all weather tyre...
Mr WrightSo far so good, these grip well, roll well and are much stronger than the standard evo versions.
Mr WrightHaving killed a set of standard nic evos in under 3 months (split the side wall), I gave the snake skin version a shot and so far they have been excellent. They're light weight, grippy and strong. Only time will tell if they can last the course, but so far they've been worth the investment. If you're thinking of getting standard evos, go for these instead, they seem to be much stronger.
Mr BurtonGood grip in the local slippery clay mud, and sealed first time on Mavic XC117 rims with Stans.
Mr ANDERSONVery quick delivery, great grippy long lasting tyre.
Mr RegaThis is a great XC tyre, grippy and a good weight. When I took a pair of these to the alps I thought I might encounter trouble with them being single ply but I didn't get a single pinch or flat in a week of hard riding.
ChrisGreat tyre, snakeskin is worth the small weight penalty in my experience. Prefer it to the Racing Ralph as it has slightly more grip on the loose stuff, but both are are good tyres. Tubeless works well, went up no problems on a non tubeless xc717 rim.
