Excellent bike for the money, had a frame upgrade also for free! Seemed very well put together, although front brake did get a little bashed in transit, easily sorted though and not a Merlin fault but the courier. The bike is very well specced, not ridden it myself, it was for my son who will not let me have a go. Overall, really good value for the money.
This bike is not expensive, but there's nothing cheap about it. The weight is about 10.8 kg and if you want to lose a gram or two easily, just replace the Supra wheels. If you are looking for an affordable cyclocross, order this one.
Our son Jamie's birthday present. He uses it at our club (Hetton Hawks) in Sunderland and absolutely loves it. It is a step up from his Isla and it was a seemless transition to an 'adult' bike. We recently completed the Walney to Wear (154 miles) and he wished he had this instead of his 9 speed. We are doing another couple of plus 50 milers in the following weeks and we will let you know how we get on, early signs are looking good. Only niggle, order to delivery took a long time but ultimately worth the wait as it definitely exceeds the sum of its parts. Thanks.
Dougie McAllister, father of Jamie 11 years old.
This a very good, light and fast bike.
Impressed with the gear shifting accuracy and behaviour under load on both road and light off-road.
