Mr Sodhi Light weight and Works great on my carbon wheels .
Mr Wharton Superb brakes! Powerful, smooth, look lovely and a great price from Merlin. No need for disc brakes when rim brakes are this good.
Grant Bought these to upgrade my winter bike to give the same feel and stopping power of my Dogma. These brakes are absolutely superb; I have the 9100 on the Dogma but wen for the 9000 for the winter steed...... no real discernible difference between the two...... other than cost. If you’re looking to upgrade your brakes I”d recommend the 9000 over the 9100 just on cost alone. If you are upgrading the brakes, do the cables as well...... the dura ace 9000 cable set will transform your ride and give confidence to stop in the wet,
Mr Mugi 見栄え、ブレーキのききはとても良い。リムブレーキはこれ以降それ程進化しないと思うので買っておいた方が良いと思います
chris Absolutely superb. I wasn't sure whether to get the Sram Red to match my groupset or these. Sram are lighter, but reviews are mixed and seem to have a lot of set up issues, whereas these had glowing reviews across the board. Luckily, everyone who was good enough to review were spot on, these are brilliant. Stopping power and modulation is the best I've ever used. Highly recommended. Superb and a great price from Merlin.
Kevin Love the new Dura Ace brakes, noticeable change from Ultegra. Merlin had a great price as well.
L. Burner Love the click stop adjustment on this pair of brake calipers more than the new Dura Ace 9100.
Zero9 As usual with Dura Ace, beautifully made and finished. Action and feel through the levers is smooth, very controllable and direct (assuming you're using good quality, well-maintained cables to match the brakes of course). Made for the best riders in the world, so I suppose they're bound to be good really.
Teemu Power of the brake calipers compared to DA 7800 is totally on different planet.
Mr Sprinzl Nice set of brakes. Definitely an upgrade from what I had been using. They were easy to set up and adjust and have great stopping power.
antonus As usual very good brakes but the adjusting screw is more difficult to reach than on previous model 7900
Mr Willis I bought these as an upgrade to the stock pedals that came with my bike. There is no comparison. These are some of the best brakes in the industry. Merlin had a great price that couldn't be beat by any other online bike shop and all with free shipping.
jennings These brakes are light weight look good and have superb stopping power. Highly recommended
Pinarello Pirate I bought these calipers after reading a Bike Radar review that awarded them best mechanical calipers on test. Bringing the brake pads to the rim on both sides equally and precisely was a critical factor and seems to be an issue for non dual-pivot brakes. The Dura Ace 9000's perform quite well in this respect and operate with reasonable precision. Generally they are of very good quality and look very nice on my Dogma F8. However in my opinion they fall slightly short of the standard that my previous calipers attained, namely Campag's dual pivot Super Record. Setting the Shimano calipers up seemed to be less forgiving. Fussy? Well when you're comparing components at that level and price point you are quite entitled to nit pick. I'd give them 8 out of 10.
Damon I decided to buy this second pair of Dura Ace 9000 brakes for a new build because they work so well. We do a lot of descending at 45 mph and this brake set slows the bike down quickly. The modulation of the brake is better than any brakes that I have used in the past. The fit and finish is spot on and the durability is excellent.
KURT Shiny black and polished aluminium finish, doing job amazing, really lightweight. All titanium hardware and coming with amazing brake pads for Aluminium rims.. Better than my old 6800 BC.
Mr Fullwood Quite simply the best performing brakes I've had!
Mr Smythe Initially purchased for aesthetics and as a weight saving exercise on a new build, but I was pretty shocked at how much of an improvement the braking has been over Ultegra when paired with the 9001 DA shifters. Very confidence inspiring and dead easy for a novice home mechanic like me to set up. Going to upgrade the wife's bike too to full DA when have the cash spare. Price at Merlin's was unbeatable, and delivery was super fast. Didn't select next day delivery but got them in one working day any way.
Mr Walsh Great bit of kit, controlled, powerful braking and they look good too.
zippnut Great braking power. The gold standard, much more powerful and better modulation than my Record 11 calipers.
Hin A very noticeable upgrade, it is the closest you will get to disc brakes
finn-kelcey These brakes are truly fabulous. I can see no reason why I should ever need to go down the disc route. They perform and look beautiful. I am using them with my Shimano Ultegra 6700 10 speed levers and they work really well. All I can say is they`re worth it!
Mr Jones Sweet brakes, beautifully engineered
Mr Espinosa Pros: Very good stopping power. Adjustable in multiple points. Very well made. Merlin pricing Con: Heavier than my zero gravity brakes
Mr Blenkinsop I can't believe how much better these are than Ultegra 6700. Modulation is excellent and sheer stopping power is in a different league. They look great too! Only the cost goes against them. Except of course Merlin have slashed the price.
Jan E Great product ... Well finished, excellent quality - Braking is improved compared to my original OEM 105. Worth the cost in my view. Fast delivery and a very good price for the set. Fitted on a Giant Defy 0 - 2014 model. Works well with the original brake cables - but will upgrade them as well - so expect performance to be even better.
Mr beuganey Best brakes I've ever used. Another Shimano winner. I now have them on 2 bikes and feel as safe as a bank!!
Mr Hartzhorne Usual DA high quality product! Lightweight, great modulation. Pads are OK but I always use Swissstop so have upgraded. Highly recommend if your budget can stretch to it! Otherwise Ultegra will give you a good bang for your buck!
Mr Gibbons Excellent callipers, great looks and stopping power. Best price from merlin. Very happy
Mr SMITHSON Slick looking, modern design, powerful performance, these are brilliant.
Mr Dalgliesh Beautifully made calipers, not the lightest but the feel and stopping power is excellent.
Mr boal Upgraded from my existing Ultegra which I thought were pretty good until I used these- far more stopping power and better modulation. Outstanding performance, quality and looks.
Mr Shaw Fantastic brakes from Shimano. Previously had DA7800 and the stopping power of these better still. Just what you want when cycling in the Alps. These are simply the best brakes you can buy.
Mr Marshall Powerful with great modulation.
Mr Yiu Attractive looks. Powerful yet light brake feel.
Mr Wade Excellent brakes. Pull up really well. A big improvement over 7900 and a massive difference compared with Ultegra stoppers.
Hubert Erb Excellent linear feel to braking, good finish, complete range of adjustment for pad positioning.
Mr Yorke So much better than any other brake calipers I've owned. Light and powerful and look great.
Mr Munro Really like the new pivot design of these brakes - now both pads contact at the same angle - surely resulting in more efficient braking. And they look fantastic.
Mr Chappell These brakes are immense. A step up over the original Shimano calliper design. The callipers are stiff low weight and mechanically sound. Very easy to change pads too.
Mr Wakeling I recently upgraded my brakes to the Shimano 9000 brake calipers. I should have done it sooner as these are the best rim brakes I have used, fantastic stopping power.
San Diego Cyclist In a word, sublime. Massive stopping power with subtle nearly infinite modulation control, even on carbon rims (ENVE 3.4). Worth every extra penny as far as I am concerned. Life is short. Don't make it shorter with subpar brakes. Wow.
Mr Avery Great upgrade, very much needed on a carbon rim, I stop up as quick on carbon as I do on alloy rim. Top class engineering.
