ballein I have had several rides on the c35 now and can say wow nice wheels. I picked up a noticeable amount of speed on my 21 mile tt course. They just plain roll better and easier than my stock mavic wheelset. Great wheelset for the price merlin is selling them for.
Mr Grieve Excellent upgrade from my Fulcrum Racing S5s. Accelerate well, roll forever, very quiet. Noticeable in a moderate crosswind (~10-12mph) but easily manageable. I'm 195 lbs and have not had any problems. Love these wheels - would absolutely purchase again!
Mr Haig I am amazed by how much this set of wheels increases the quality of my rides over the standard equipment for my first carbon bike -- a Specialized Roubaix. 50 miles go by like 35. Kudos. Shipped promptly and in perfect condition.
Mr Feakins Cheapest price I could find on Merlin, a lot cheaper than most other sites. Use them on my Canyon Ultimate for the nicer weather rides. Ridden twice now on a flattish 50km and then a hilly sportive and they are a superb wheelset. Weight, obviously, is incredibly light. They don't cut through (unsurprisingly) as much as my deeper section race wheels but they are aero enough to feel like you are getting some advantage. Oh, and they look superb!
M. Asghari My first wheel upgrade ever. I definitely feel the difference between these wheels and my bike's original wheel set. They are really good for climbing as they are both light and responsive. I don't know why, but I really like loud hub sounds which these wheels don't have. But I'm not gonna hold it against them
K Leung This is a great set of wheels. Upgraded from Aksium, it really makes a difference in climb and acceleration. Fitted with Continental Gatorskin 23mm, it's not super comfortable but its fast. Looks very nice. Merlin shipped to US in 4 days. Excellent service.
Mick Henderson It took me a while to decide on which wheel to go for C35 or C50, really pleased I went for the C35 in the end as they are that bit lighter. The first time I used them was in the Velothon Wales, a 88 miler around the hills of south Wales, now I'm not sure if it was the adrenalin pumping or the wheels but I certainly found the hills easier with these wheels. They are also a great looking wheel. I have to mention Merlin cycles because there service was second to none, I ordered one day and they arrived before lunch the very next day. There very helpful staff also helped me to decide which wheel to go for. Best price on the net also, five stars to Merlin and the product.
nycebo I upgraded to the Shimano carbon C35 from the Shimano stainless 24mm tubeless wheelset I had on my Cervelo R3 for the past 6 years. The C24 were great and I really liked the tubeless tires (which basically never flatted). But, it was time to upgrade the wheels again and I thought about the move to a slightly deeper dish wheel and carbon. Also, since I use them in winter, I wanted the aluminum brake track. All told, the C35 fit the bills despite the fact that I would have to go back to tubes. Turns out I needn't have worried. The C35 wheels are TERRIFICALLY smooth after an initial 300-400 miles the past few days, offer compelling stiffness for sprints and climbs BUT are still comfortable on the pockmarked roads in and around New York City. Candidly, they feel bomb-proof but deadly silent. The hub is just excellent, spins up quickly and rolls well. Given, these aren't the deepest wheels (looking even less so because of the brake track), but they track well and don't get blown around in heavy gusts (unlike my buddies on deeper wheels this past weekend). Can I feel that they are faster than my old wheels from an aero perspective? I can't really say, particularly given the many variables when it comes to cycling. But, they feel much more stable. Another nod to Shimano for building up wheels that were ready to go out of the box. Mount a tire and tube and I was ready to go. Lastly, a word on MERLIN CYCLES. They offered a terrific price on these wheels. By far, they were the most competitive among the other online retailers. Also, their customer service was superb. The front wheel arrives with what may have been a cosmetic defect but Merlin swapped it immediately for another and got me on my way happy in the knowledge that the wheels would be perfect. I can't recommend them enough.
Allan Coe These wheels are beautiful to ride on. Stiff, corner beautifully, light, look fantastic and give you extra speed with minimal extra effort. C35 is a good balance between climbing and aero. Buying this set saves having two sets of wheels. I am a heavy guy 105 kg and no issues. Shimano are the leaders for a reason.
Mr Geraldo Amazing wheels. The hubs specially are just incredibly string and durable. The braking power on shimano rims is outstanding. Not to mention the quality and stability of these wheels are definitely worth every penny. I've had enve wheels (ses 3.4), Zipp 404, ksyrium slr, Reynolds assault and none come close to the shimano durace line. I love my old Shimano Durace C50 wheels. Now I have these 9000 C35 durace set. Thanks merlin cycles.
JimSynapse Excellent wheels. They are light and solid for climbing. You can feel the bike accelerate better than the stock wheels. Merlin is a great place to order your gear. They are fast in delivery and lowest price out there.
Jeff K Awesome wheels! Top quality as expected from the Shimano Dura Ace line. These roll super smooth, spin up quickly and are beautiful to look at!
Mr Gambini Smooth ride, true as an arrow. Nice aero advantage over standard shallow wheels. Braking excellent!
S Xing Fantastic wheels which held up very well even in strong gusts. It gets a bit shaky at times with wind speed gusting at 40mph, but still just about manageable. 60mm valve inner tubes fit those perfectly. The rear wheel can take 10 or 11 speed casette, with a spacer provided for 10-speed. The quality of the build feels good, but I need to put some more miles into those before I can comment on their durability. Very happy with the purchase so far.
Mr Davis Real quality wheels. Roll quickly up to speed and hold it up hill and in the flats. A great set of all around wheels that I highly recommend. Great performance with beautiful design execution equals another winning product for Shimano's Dura Ace line.
Mr Hughes Delivery to Ireland was much quicker than I expected inside 3 days. The wheels are better than I hoped and the cheapest I could find by nearly 200 euro. 5 star rating!
Mr Blackwell Not had much chance to use the new hoops, however they are lighter than my RS80 C24's (about 100g), stiffer, and of course have a little bit more bling factor. Not sure about the black hubs and spokes, at least the spokes don't appear to generate much noise unlike the odd Mavics I've owned; out of the box they look very true and spin-on for ever, I would certainly recommend the item. Once again excellent service from Merlin, delivery under 24hrs from placing order, well packed, and very keen prices, Well done !! and thanks. GB
Mr Onishi Excellent!! 1st time with Merlin Cycles. Delivered in the evening just after return from Christmas vacation, as Christmas Box. Took about two weeks to Japan. The next morning built up within just one hour, in spite of 30 yrs after last building, and rode to mountain side, very happy.
