General information about our shipping
Truth in advertising actually works for once. All of the claims made by Shimano are true and the FD works as they claim -- just note that it is designed to work with the 6700 lever. Finish is attractive and it was easy to set up, shifts well (make sure that you follow the guidelines regarding distance from the chainring teeth to the FD and you'll be fine). I am using it with a compact chainset (34-50) with no problems. If you want to add a bracket, there are plenty of after-market (or Shimano) ones available. Why not a five star ? Compared to SRAM Force the Ultegra shifter is a little clunky and I have become a fan of Yaw technology -- really smooth and less friction in the extremes (OK, chain-line purists, we all transgress) but a little more difficult to set up than the Ultegra. SRAM Rival and up also come with a neat little chain spotter. Not a spoiler for Ultegra at all, but something to consider if you're in the market for a FD.
Bought this to put on a new build as I have the same groupset on my existing bike. 6700 provides smooth shifting between the chain rings and has never given me any problems. Great piece of kit.
Works treat and looks super neat. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Works just great with older STI 6600 shifters, no problem.
I upgraded my my existing crank to a Shimano Ultegra 6700. The derailleur seems to be working fine. Just might need to change the cable, but installation was easy.
Upgraded from 105 massive difference alot lighter shifting!! due to lighter spring tension
Shimano stuff just works! I upgraded from 105 triple to ultegra double and found only a slight difference in operation but I think the ultegra gear will last longer Merlin are ace, next day delivery and they keep you informed of the progress Cheers
Installed this product a few weeks ago with no issues. Simple to set up, although Shimano states to use 'Ultegra ST6700 shifters only for optimum shifting performance' I'm using 105 5700 shifters with no issues. As normal, great service from Merlin, ordered at 10am on the Friday morning and arrived 24 hours later by Royal Mail.
Bomb-proof and looks great, it will last you a life time!
Using with a 6600 drive train. This derailleur is only supposed to be B compatible according to Shimano but it works fine. Great price and quick delivery from Merlin as usual.
Excellent derailleur, cheapest price on the net and fast delivery.
Great price and ultra swift service.
Good quality and the difference in weight compared to the Dura Race didn't warrant the difference in price to me.
As always excellent service an delivery and a great buy
Excellent derailluar at a great price, service is excellent as well.
Does what a front mech should do nicely!!
