Chris Nice improvement over my older derailleur. Glad I made the purchase.
Mr. Motorlegs I also have a DuraAce version of one of these. The differences are worth commenting on. As you'd expect, the finish is not quite as good with the Ultegra version, with the pivot heads on the Ultegra version large rivets which are quite ugly and cheap looking. There are also fewer cutaways, which will make it heavier. My main issue though is the lack of a screw in the cage. Having a rivet instead of a screw means the chain has to be broken if the mech needs to be removed for any reason. Mechanical performance however is excellent.
Dr Mohamed Good quality
Samuel As with all shimano higher end kit. Great craftsmanship, easy to install and set up and excellent precision in shifting.
Mr Northall Great deal on this from Merlin, you can tell the quality here with Ultegra, faultless shifing and at the price others are charging for 105.
Michael Really pleased with it. One of the best front derailleurs on the market for a cheap price! Got a nice crisp change to the big ring on my winter bike thanks to this bad boy :-) quick delivery to, will definitely order again from Merlin!
Mr Cole Excellent quality item, light with a solid fast action eveything you'd expect from Ultegra components
Daniel Ultegra front mech. What more can one say? Changes gear on the front with ease.
Martin Easy set up and perfect front shifting.
Mr Smith Accurate shifting every time
Rodriguez Top grade quality! Effortless smooth shifting and very good looking! A++
ezweave After years on SRAM, this thing is a godsend. Other than the problem of initial cable tension, it works perfectly. (Even with a cable stretcher, the best way is to artificially increase the tension by first adjusting the lower limit screw, then going one turn beyond to fasten the cable, then back it out again.)
Gzepi Light and durable, what more could you want.
Bernie I'm a bit of a Shimano fan and I have to say that the 6800 Ultegra groupset is as good as Dura Ace in my opinion with the differences being so miniscule as to not really matter and the same goes for this front mech. it's well engineered, well made and well priced.
Kim Very smooth shifting.
JRidesaFelt Quick shifting and the top trim prevents chain rub in the big/big combination. Merlin's price was by far the best.
Mr Pfeiffer Previously ridden Shimano 105 and was blown away by how quick and smooth the change is - specially from small to large chain ring. Changes in an instant. Easy to fit with instructions from Shimano's website. Very impressed by this upgrade.
Mr TUNA Faster shifting than the previous model 6700 or 7900.
Mr Lewis A quality piece of kit which is hardly any different to top of the range Dura Ace at an extremely good price. Super fast delivery.
raychu Having riden both SRAM Force and Ultegra, I would say SRAM has the edge here with the yaw technology. Having said that, the trimming works fine on ultegra
PK Bullet proof and easy to setup. Nice action.
Mr Muller The main benefit of 6800 is the front derailleur which shifts easier and better under load. It is tricky to set up requiring a very taught cable. Follow the instructions on the web and it works great.
