Crisp, simple, reliable shifting.
I run a 29er hardtail setup and went with the triple over the double for the lower gearing on the crank and got the 11-36 rear cassette, which works great with the larger wheelsize.
The transmission, especially the Shadow+ rear derailleur is so quiet over all terrain, all you hear is the tyres.
I installed them only a few weeks ago, but easy to set up. Went with the silver finish as less likely to show abuse.
10spd is great ! So easy to maximise cadence. Already couldn't imaging going back.XT is fantastic.
Surprise inclusion of XT bottom bracket. I had a Saint BB already, so now i have a spare.
Received the order in Australia in under 5 days - Great Service !
Usual Shimano quality, was tempted to go down the SRAM route but I just like everything about Shimano kit. Shifting seems a little quicker than the set I had 3 years ago.
Shimano XT - premium performance without the premium price.
Shifting performance in the rear is stellar, as we have come to expect from upper level Shimano components. The surprise is how well the front shifting works, which is nearly as quick and smooth as the rear. This comes at a cost of a slightly smaller gear range, but the low gear is plenty low, and the high gear is adequate for everything but extended downhill road riding.
Another welcome surprise was the ability to shift the smaller shift lever with your thumb (as well as index finger), allowing you to keep your index finger over the brake lever while shifting (my preferred riding style).
Shifting is light, yet accompanied by a "click" that you can both feel and hear, letting you know how many gears you have shifted. On the right shifter, you can down shift up to 4 gears at a time, or up shift up to 2.
Overall, awesome performance for the serious racer or avid hobbyist.
The Shimano XT group is just one step below their top-tier XTR, and offers very similar performance, but at a much more affordable price.
An excellent choice for the avid cyclist who wants top performance, but doesn't have a factory sponsorship paying the bill for them.

Looks great so makes a good first impression out of the box. Performs sooo much better than the worn out 05 xt it replaces, with the rear mech clutch preventing any chain slap or suck. Do I miss the gear indicator windows on the shifters? No!
Great service from Merlin once again, order to arrival in 2 days, over a weekend - awesome!
Very good groupset so far. Crisp gear changes and easy to set up. The choice of gears is good as well. With the 11-36 rear cassette it makes going up hills a lot easier.
The clurch on the rear gear stops all the chain slap on the frame which makes the whole set up quieter.
Finish is good and looks like it will be hard wearing.
